I doubt it's Bird, there's no way he'd leave. John seemed to think that it was pretty much a done deal so that sort of rules him out if he has rejected all offers. If the Sharks do get Taumololo that'd be a ridiculous team.
If we're talking 2018 I hope it's someone like Shaun Johnson we're after.

Releasing lafai would mean another club has agreed to take on his contract. Even if the dragons agree to continue to pay a part of his salary next season, which club in their right mind would want lafai?
