I'm really giving up on this concept. 4 players that I've selected (Civoniceva, Scott, Burgess and Lawrence) have all withdrawn so I've had to change my team several times. Now I need to find a replacement for Lawrence and I obviously cbf to reshuffle my team. Putting Gareth Ellis into the #4 jersey now.

No. Clearly the players who are leading the votes for their club think it's a waste of time too.

Injuries happen unfortunately, seriously four players being withdrawn due to injury for All Stars is less than what the Kangaroos, Kiwis or sometimes even the Origin squads have to deal with a times.

Out of the list of guys who have pulled out, Civoniceva and Scott have both stated many times how much they love playing in the concept. Burgess, considering he played so little game time last year is no surprise, clearly Souths would want to ensure they can get a season out of him, as for Lawrence, well clearly he is still recovering from Four Nations.

As for comments that the match is a waste of time, the fact is it provides a million+ TV audience for the code outside of the regular season. Earns a significant amount of revenue for the game which goes back into community programs at each of the clubs, has got the government at a Federal level more engaged with the code than ever before, an important partnership and funding which can't be understated, plus of course a range of other benefits, including encouraging young indigenous kids to play our game, giving more rep opportunities to players, giving the code another asset it can sell.

Voting system could probably be tweaked a bit but apart from that it is a great concept. The amount of good it does for the aboriginal community in terms of revenue, awareness and just the feeling of having a team of their own is enormous

Not necessarily. A season ending injury to any player would be a travesty in an exhibition game that meant little to anyone.

So make it an Indiginous only game. It's not like they don't have some big names to draw a big crowd on their own. Maybe Redfern v QLD?
