i like the idea.. it will be similar to Football Superstar (football one on fox 8)

the people who make the final group will be solid players, they wont pick dunces.

The winner will more or likely be known to nrl clubs...

"They will help judge the elimination episodes, with contestants completing such tasks as fighting world champion Anthony Mundine for one round and abseiling down the side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge"

someone explain to me how this is relevant to being a rugby league player?

surely these would just be like "break from routine" challenges. I am sure they have more rugby league specific things happening during the show.

Great idea this. But why arent they including NZ?

Infact I reckon they should aim it at Vic, NT, WA and ADL players.

That was exactly my first reaction. Anyone worth their salt from QLD and NSW will already be known by several clubs. They could really unearth a gem from the southern states.

Its a great idea. The more league tv shows the better. Those bagging it would be the same ones bagging the NRL for missing out if this was a show about AFL players.

And thank god its on fox. The only tv network that promotes the game.

I will be amazed if league is anything other than a logo.

If this is what it takes to attract half-wits that are impressed by exposure and trendy bullsh*t then I am all for it. Just can't bear it myself.

A lot of people on this board strike me as the kind who could win the $100,000,000 Lotto, then piss & moan they have to pay tax for it.

I can't wait to watch it.

In the history of reality TV, what strikes you as compelling enough to warrant another one of these shows?

What on earth makes anyone compare a lotto win to a reality tv show?

The only reason these exist is to fill space as cheaply as possible so the stations can pad out the gaps between the stuff they actually paid for.

FFS - can the NRL stick their logo on anything and the code-fans will suck it up regardless?

Its all exposure. How do you think a crap game like AFL is so popular?

I don't see how given it is only being shown on Foxsports, a channel which is a part of the sports pack on foxtel.

Anyone who can actually view this show is at long odds to not already be a league fan, and I will bet my house that not a single person adds the sports package to their foxtel just to watch this show.

Where is it popular? In Victoria, Tasmania, SA, WA & NT. Who cares?

The fans attracted by this shallow crap will be the same renters that flocked to the Swans years ago, and to the Waratahs for a season or two, then to the mighty A-League for one season. Stuff them - they are not worth it. These people will be off to watch the next big thing - whatever it is. They cost a lot of time and $$$ to recruit and cannot be retained.

Only league fans have foxsports? Try again
