I made the effort of going across the road to the RSL specifically to see my Bulldogs pal towards the end of the game. I took some evil pleasure in witnessing his season-ending pain.

And in a gloomy night in Sydney those Bulldogs fans at the game will mostly be shuffling onto trains for the long, bitter journey out west. I've done that plenty of times.

I understand going 8 in front in a tight game, or 14 and 20 etc.
Also if the troops are low on gas and need a break.

Not sure on the psychology of it all, 2 down isn't much and to me it gives the defense a nod and as captain behind the post I'd be telling the boy they don't think they can break our line!
Which in this case the Cowboys did next set!
