Glad I had that recorded, as I hate both mobs, thought my hatred for Brisbane had diminished but can’t stand Walsh and their cocky attitude, when they haven’t done anything

in amongst all that hatred, real shame for Papenhuysen, hopefully that isn’t career over for him

This guy’s whole existence is such a weird anomaly to me. 300 first grade games and 50 tests (!) and I swear he was a decent player at the Storm and basically garbage for a full decade after that. Not only was he a shit player but he was an absolute grub, and a completely unlikeable person and total charisma vacuum…so naturally he gets unlimited TV gigs post-retirement. Honestly comes across as both an imbecile and quite a nasty bloke. One of life’s mysteries how everything has constantly fallen into his lap.

He was the worst sort of player - one that was good in a side that was already great, but shithouse in one that wasn't. His career ebbed and flowed on being in good sides. He was a decent player at the Storm, went to the Tigers and was shit. Decent for the Broncos when they were OK from 2015-17, then largely rubbish for us. Useful for the Kiwis when we were good, then a f**king hopeless captain who had no issue losing to Fiji in 2017. I also remember a game v us (Warriors) for the Broncos in I reckon 2017 as well, when their Origin players were out and he was captain. He was awful.

331 games and yet cannot offer a single piece of decent analysis on the game. You're right, it's a mystery how this happens to him. It's so hard for these guys to lose jobs, like how many of these ex players actually are decent on TV? Betham is passable...but geez, the rest - Blair is the worst, Hireme-Smiler is rubbish, Halligan battles, they're just no good.
