I’ve been to games at stadium Australia before, it’s much more configured for rugby. They put temporary seating in
Went to a GF there and it was just ok. We felt a very long way from the field.
Ovals are a bit sht for viewing but 100k in MCG is pretty amazing, went to Origin there once with a sell out crowd.
Optus is just a lovely stadium, amazing facilities, great location and night games are awesome with the light effects they have, but again you do feel a long way from the action. Suncorp has still been my fave stadium here with AAMI second I've been to, though looking forward to getting to Commbank, and SFS when its done.

Imagine a Penrith v Tigers GF......being played in Perth. That crowd would just not have the same appreciation and joy as it would if the game was in Sydney.
Yeh I was at an origin in Melbourne at the Etihad in the members section. I was having to explain the rules to the Victorian’s nearby

then they got angry I booed the Nsw team after qld smashed them at full time. Weirdos

calm ya farms

it aint moving , the NRL has got its way with all 800 million promised to go to venues in Sydney & the GF to stay put.
If Stuart Ayres wants a roof on homebush , est at 250 million ... thats in addition to the 800 that is to go to suburban venues.

I propose that the Melbourne Cup gets moved to Birdsville.

Australian Open tennis gets moved to Mawson Island.

Superbowl gets moved to the Arctic Circle where it belongs.

Pipeline Masters surfing comp gets moved to the Gobi Desert.

And so on and on.....

But I thought you said Sydney is NRL heartland in the expansion forum?

Why does the NRL need to have the GF locked into Stadium Australia until 2045 if it's the heartland of the game just to get three stadia built?

The Queensland gov turned Lang Park into the best football stadium in the world in 2003. Robina Stadium was built in 2007 or 2008. Townsville Stadium was built a couple of years ago. It was done for one town RL teams and without any demand that the GF be held in Brissie until 2045.

Surely a heartland RL state would build stadia for its RL teams without demanding every GF be played in the city?

Not only is Queensland the true heartland, but it's 20 years ahead of NSW. Lang Park will still be the premier football stadium in the world, despite being 20 years old, when the SFS is opened next year.

It's a bit worrying that NSW is so technologically backwards don't you think?

Maybe the number plates on NSW registered cars should have "The Premier State" scratched off and replaced with the "The Hillbilly State" to sum up its shithouse stadia that are 70 years out of date?

Queensland can loan you the technology to fix the number plates.

Absolutely we should move it around to the highest bidder. Its not the NRL has a spiritual home anyway.
Its an advantage we have over the AFL in that they will never move it from the MCG (except when forced to).
Its a guaranteed way to promote our game around the country with a packed house every time.
