12-all, Parra v Cantab. Dylan Walker scores (yes, he's been shining for the Eels).

13 on 12 with a Dog in the bin, but he shouldn't be, it wasn't his fault there was contact. No sign of the little big-shot in number 23.

Halftime...

...game over, Galvin scores (of course he does), 30-12.

Another interesting round but the Titans, Eels and Tigers lost games they needed to win. Plus, the Panthers won (to stay annoyingly alive), so it's a little by the book this week.

No real change at the top, could this be the top four in September? Because it's been this way for a while now.

Stephen Crichton must be close to the best player in the game and it feels like a long time since we have said that about a centre

Three of the 4 must be short odds to keep their spots but whether we join them… before last week I’d have said no, but gees the lads played well.

On paper we should stay there...?

8 of our remaining 11 are against current bottom 8 teams and winning those gets us to 42pts and which will comfortably keep us in the 4.

So far we’ve beaten the teams we should, built the 4th stingiest defence in the comp, slowly developed an attack that's starting to click, and only really let ourselves down in Vegas and v Storm.

On paper and on form, we should get there.

Hard to shake wariness after decades of inconsistency though.

Can’t really question much of how Ciraldo is running the ship, but how things unfolded yesterday was absolutely bizarre

When it was time for Galvin to come on, Mahoney got hooked, and Sexton to 9. Sexton said he had absolutely no idea he’d be playing 9 at all, and Mahoney was absolutely filthy post match

The thing that makes me laugh the most is that Gus was very vocal in the DCE thing, saying he couldn't at all see how the Roosters were interested in him and it was basically because they like shiny things and don't want other teams to have them. I think, from memory, Trent Robinson blew up at that?

The only way this is different is that Galvin is 19 and they likely want to keep him long-term, but it never made a lick of sense in the short-term. I thought during the week, where the hell are they going to play him if he's on the bench?

And that's Reed Mahoney, who Gus talked up as QLD's hooker last week. Imagine being asked to play 9, if you'd never played there (I presume Sexton hasn't) and weren't prepared to. That's a hell of an ask.

I'll get the popcorn ready and see how this all plays out with the Dogs. I have no doubt Buzz and co will keep the heat on Gus and his mob.
