Don’t like seeing the Eels do well, but can ignore that today as I’m happy to not see Hasler finish with the spoon.

Same, good old Dessie, he didn't deserve that.

34-4, Eels. Halftime. Newcastle are going for nine straight losses and their fifth spoon. No one's laughing except the most bitter and 'long-memoried' Hunter Mariners fan.

Parra find 60 points, and I’m sure Penis Fingers Penisini has dropped the pill for at least another 3 tries.
With that it's another regular season done in our lives.

66-10, Parra. Final. Two 60-point hidings today. Mad Monday for nine clubs tomorrow.

Hell no, it was a covering tackle around the legs and a bit of hip rolled on the ankle. Unfortunate for Montoya but nothing Hynes could have done, I reckon they’ll fight it
Just saw it on Matty Johns, not at all what the hip drop was brought in to eradicate

Bulldogs send through a medical report to the NRL saying Montoyas injury isn’t as bad as first thought, and Hynes has his charge downgraded to fine only

And Hynes gets to play. Lucky he wasn't in a Warriors jersey.
It’s a dangerous situation created when they take into account the severity of injuries

For example, Kaufusi got 2 weeks and Laban had a broken leg. Sipleys NRL career was ended with a 3 game ban, and the person he hit was uninjured

Spudd v DCE

.

Weird, I get Carroll’s perspective, but DCE gave Manly incredible service, Carroll wasn’t exactly loyal to Penrith and Souths…

DCE isn’t exactly a likeable chap I guess, and I’m sure he will realise he could have handled things better

Personally, I'm ok with them considering the severity of any injury. If a player isn’t injured (or conversely badly injured) then the sanction should reflect that. Unless its deemed a deliberate act, in which case just chuck the book at them.

But as you’ve pointed out, there’s a few cases where its not clear if they've applied that rationale consistently.

This cant have been the first time an initial injury assessment was 'downgraded' later on, but seems the first time the MRC has ever backtracked on updated medical report. Or has it happened before...?

Yeah it's human nature to take into account the damage, but it's not really the right approach. Even if Laban hadn't broken his leg, it was a callous act from a guy with priors.

Ford got 3 weeks for a tackle that wasn't even acknowledged or even seen by most of us live.

Taylan May showing the class of that family yet again

Tigers throw him a lifeline mid year, and have produced a 3 year deal at 500k a year. He has rejected that and told them it needs to be a shorter deal with more money

Do we reckon he owes the Tigers anything though?

I mean for sure... they definitely threw him a bone when few others were interested given his history, but they hedged their bets with a low-risk bottom dollar train and trial deal. Which was entirely fair for both parties.

But in return he played 7 very good games for them, quickly became arguably their best outside back other than Bula and (as far as I know) stayed out of trouble off the field. Feels like he’s held up his end of that bargain?

I certainly think he does. Apart from the fact he should be in jail which we can set aside, he has barely played any footy for 3 years, and was offered a lifeline to get back into the game, which then was backed up with a long term deal on coin that is extremely fair for a centre. With his past he should be putting some runs on the board before making demands
