It's amazing what your first, unexpected win does to your energy and enthusiasm for the season ahead. I just can't wait till tomorrow night! But first, we have to deal with the sight of Big Nelson, he's back. I quite like how crazy he is though (I almost misspelt that as 'thug'!) and will be glued to tonight's blockbuster, Storm v Panthers, game.

Mt Smart vs the Chooks always brings back those 2008 finals memories, that wonderful night we eventually blew them away with our energy and aggression and let's hope, 17 years later, we can do the same. I just hope the stink of that Agar incident isn't dragging us down.

At Lang Park, it used to be special, the Broncos v Cows. Payten needs a return to those glory days as he's really struggling up there, but the Broncos were rubbish last week too. So who knows, this time it could just be a 'low-quality' thriller.

Saturday, Cronulla should outmuscle Souths at home and up in Redcliffe we'll find out how improved the Tigers really are as, on form, they should beat the Dolphins.

I'm backing wily old Dessie to get a number over the Knights. The Titans' defence is looking weak though and, with that in mind, Ponga is the last player they'd want coming at them.

Sunday is sad, for Eels fans. Some hardcore ones I know say it'll only get worse too. 'No one knows what they're doing' is a common refrain. Canterbury expect finals action, deep finals action, this year. It might be a long afternoon for the Parramatta faithful.

We close with what would've been a full house at Brookie for Manly v Canberra. However, Sunday night isn't great for fans. The weekend's over and Monday looms. With warm weather though it makes sense. This one could be the game of the round, if anyone notices!

Enjoy!

I'm moving to Melbourne in late June, which is a double-edged sword...I move to the city of the club I despise, but I will be living 10-15 mins drive from AAMI, and will get to see the Broncs, Roosters, and a few others before the end of the season and boo the purple f**kers.

On the plus, I'll get to be in the Aussie time zone which means I'll definitely watch games like the Storm Panthers block buster tonight, which I'd absolutely watch at 8pm but I won't tonight on a work night at 10pm.

And I'll get to watch two Origins this year, as #2 is in Perth and #3 I'll be in Australia.

Same with Broncs Cows tomorrow night, although given it's a weekend I'll probably stay up for that.

Sea Eagles Raiders on Sunday is going to be an absolute ripper, as well.

Geez I love the NRL.

Big move. Good luck with that. Remember you saying your daughter loved the women’s game so hopefully Melbourne get on board with that soon.

Lead up to my season was very low key, but I’m slowly getting back into it, will be watching more in a few weeks time though. My boy has just signed up for his first season playing this year so he is taking more notice of it, made the decision himself without dad pushing at all

Tom T officially ruled out this weekend for Manly, Koula back in though so he or Hopoate can do a job

It’s going to be quite emotional at Brookvale on Sunday night, a 12 year old lad that the Trbojevic brothers had taken under their wing for the last year lost his battle with cancer. Absolutely terrible stuff

She does, her first rugby training on Monday. Bit worried (she is only 7) but she absolutely loves it.

And she already boos the Storm and says they're cheats, which is good parenting from me
Top work with the Storm hate !

I’m worried too lol, 7 as well, not the biggest lad and hasn’t tackled before, but he is a whippet so if in the clear it will be all over. Still a few weeks before he actually hits the training paddock and gets into it to see if he can handle it

Can’t see Penrith winning this, but how can you ever doubt them. Edwards a huge loss though

Love watching Liam Martin, if I was starting a new club, he would be the first forward I would buy

Well WTF was he doing?
Looked like a Dolphin jumping out of the water move.
The crowd is really poor attendance wise for a GF replay.
Yeah, my thoughts too on both. He didn't deserve to be booed but I dunno why he jumped.

And Melbourne fans suck. Grand final replay, you have a rock star team looking to avenge last year and can't sell it out. Even if its Thursday night. If they start sucking again in future, it'll be 3 men and their dogs crowd wise

To'o in! Grandstand finish. 30-24, three mins left. Penrith have two sets.

...Munster gives away a dumb penalty by being aggro...but game over. Melbourne win. Great game.

What's up with the nose strip?
One of those things I think they've proven has little value, but is meant to open the nasal cavity to allow for better breathing. That's the idea behind it. Similar to those strapping strips that a lot of teenagers wear, but no pro sports people wear. They're just a look
