A poor effort by Media Watch.

Had a dig at Rupert always preferring VFL.

The rest of it was analysing the benefit of live sport on FTA.

They said League had a predominently male demographic and VFL had a broader audience.

Apparently that made VFL TV rights a better proposition.

No mention of the journalistic atrocities committed by News Corp.

The only thing the ABC hates more than Murdoch is the patriarchy.

Pathetic.

I think the big bear that has been poked isn't Rupert, it's the nrl fans.
We are usually a divided bunch with our own interest and agendas, but it's been amazing that the majority of fans (even some broncos fans!) are calling out news ltd for their bullshit. Its actually uniting the code

Are there any facts that nrl mainly has a male audience? I know a lot of women who love their league

That's a bit unfair assuming that Broncos fans somehow support News LTD because they have a majority stake in the Broncos. I've supported the Broncos since their inception and hate News Corp with a passion. The sooner News sell out of the Broncos the happier I will be.

They do but it amounts to an about 4% difference in female audience. League has a generally younger demographic as well.

It was poor wasn't it, perfect opportunity to show News acting in their commercial interests rather than journalistic ethics but they just went on about the networks overspending.

Agreed. Personally yet to meet a fellow Brissy fan who sides with News. The fact that Little Murdoch sees the club as a play thing is an annoying formality that I'm sure many of us would love to see end sooner rather than later. Perhaps given Daddy's recent comments, he could buy a stake in the Greater Western Prague Gnats instead.

I've been using my 11 old sons account and have thrown a few shots.

This twittering is pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

This is pretty funny.

From the SMH:

There was no talk of a breakaway or a mutiny against NRL CEO Dave Smith when club bosses met on Monday.

From News:

A DRAMATIC breakaway by clubs from the NRL to form a rebel rugby league competition was formally discussed for the first time on Monday by all 16 club chairpersons.

Never really understood twitter as a platform for talking about personal shit, but it's definitely gold when it comes to getting the attention of people like Hooper who use it.
