f**k that's a dumb headline - completely misses the point.
There will be no public backflips, because nothing will be announced until the 10 day period has passed.
Yes because everything in NRl land is super confidential until deals are announced lol If anything Id be leaking it if I was a club that had signed someone to put pressure on them not to backflip!

Not unless the club who may be losing a player to a rival uses it to spin their narrative about losing them.

Neither the clubs or the players really benefit from this. Sounds more like player agents trying to get more power.
I think it will be being pushed by both the clubs and the agents. The clubs will want a definite line in the sand, so that they get a fair crack at keeping the player. Essentially it means I player can’t sign with another club, let the 10 days pass and then tell their club and have a ‘there’s nothing I can do about it now’ get out of the conversation - it forces the player to have the awkward conversation with their club, and therefore gives their club a chance to make a best and final offer, which the agents will be delighted about.

What ended up happening with international player payments ? Are players of all countries being paid equally ?

How does the hard ship fund work? Does a former player have to prove thier injury happened while playing in the NRL and not in ESL, Union or bush footy ? What if this former player only played a dozen NRL games ? Do they get access to the hardship fund?

Saw a Tele article that actually looked a media release on how the Salary Cap changes for the next 5 years

With no nrl.com or RLPA media release

This has been happening regularly since PVL took over

I suspect the problem was some nations would have wanted the NRL to make payments to all players selected, including those who do not play in any competitions that fall under the NRL's jurisdiction. The CBA only covers the NRL, not all rl players world wide.

Looks like Samoa will have to wait until Haas, Tino, Nania, Hammer are no longer good enough to make the Kangaroos before they'll represent Samoa.

If my maths are correct Kangaroos players will get 240k per tournament V 20k for the pacific teams.

I bet Tualiga is regretting his decision

I doubt players are only getting 3k each for the pacific cup

cant believe the rlpa allowed roos players to get more than non roos players

I’m sure they all get paid the same (nrl players)

That CBA specifies Australian Kangaroo players get paid 40k, it doesn't mention NRL players of other nations getting paid the same.

It is a News Limited story, So of course is only part of it.

There would be a rate for every other nation, Remember Kaufusi getting annoyed at the notion the islands weren't getting looked after.

Kiwis are getting paid too

Haas could play for the Philippines instead perhaps

RLPA actually gave an answer further down that thread on X. On NRL sanctioned events "Pacific Cup" etc.. it's the same pay for all nations. Only the WC payment is different and its 40K for the whole tournament.

Maybe ARLC or RLC branded down the line should be in charge of international footy as Gus says. Think they will do a better job than the IRLF.
