You miss a lot. Abdo himself says he wants it to fund players representing any southern hemisphere country.

“It is important to note that while the RLPA said today that they had not asked for more money, in the offer that we made we had earmarked an allocation of funds for representative payments. For the revitalisation of the international calendar.

“We want to see Test matches at the end of the year and we had set aside a small amount of funds that are the players funds to go to players who are representing their country in the southern hemisphere and these are registered NRL and NRLW players.

“The RLPA have come back to us and said, that should be excluded from the player payment pool in our offer, so there are elements here that still need to be agreed on that do go to the heart of money.

“It might be that we agreed on minimum wage and salary cap, but importantly we want to see the international game flourish and that was in our offer.

Where does it say that its the NRL's responsibility to organise test matches and tours for other countries besides Australia?

Before you post nonsense have a look for your missing brain.

They are because they want to get a higher tv deal

the end of season tests will be controlled by the arlc

they will make all the revenue themselves after paying players with the other governing bodies getting some money too

So an end of season test between France and Tonga in France, for example, will be organised by the NRL?

Lol f**king read Abdo's words. Which part of "southern hemisphere" do you think applies only to Australia?

I have read it, so just settle petal, that type of language might make you feel tough in front of your fellow dullards but it doesn't impress me.

'Southern hemisphere' means the NRL is organising all tests and tours of other countries does it? Thats all the clarification I'm after. So the NRL will be booking the hotel rooms, providing the transport, organising the uniforms for all tests?

And please don't post useless articles that don't answer my question.

Reports are a 4 team tournament was on the cards.

Until Tonga took the Poms 3 game tour on board.

That 1st one, You'd think would be NRL run, Not sure they will have any say in the 2nd option.

Nonsense, in years gone by nzrl have earnt over $2mill for a tour to uk and France.

20k tickets at $40 avg is $800k, plus corporate sales, merch sales and sponsors

stadium hire is $150-250k depending on stadium deal
$5k a game per player = $200k for both teams
promotion and others game day cosst $100k
travel accomodation etc per game $50k

how does it not make money? And thats before you look at the value of the games in the tv deals

it only doesn’t make money if the nrl do a sht job marketing it and we dont sell enough tickets.

I am going by Kristian Wolfe's comments.

I think the coach of Tonga would know more than an AFL fan like yourself

So who’s paying players who play in SL or second tier comps who rep for their countries here? Or what about when teams play in northern hemisphere? This looks a real dogs breakfast of an idea by the nrl. And Gould wanted them to take over all IRL lol

Well if I was a player I’d be asking where the money is going? A test match well attended should easily clear $1mill revenue. If players are only getting $50k of that they should be asking why! Of course when you’re playing in front of 5k in Campbelltown that’s a different matter!
disgracefully this is the first proper tour of uk that a PI side has made, let’s see how it performs shall we?

Gordie and Hooper interviewing Newton on Triple M was the funniest 💩 ever.
Gordie a senior member of the players back when they they boycotted against the nrl was asked by Newton what they fought for back then and he had no clue at all.

Isn’t international or SOO selection supposed to be seen as an honour, rather than a money spinner?
A form of recognition, creating a legacy etc… I’d disband all payments for representative games. Players used to dream of growing up and wearing the green and gold, or maroon/sky blue, not the $30k they’d earn for doing so.
It’s all greed from the players and RLPA - the NRL and the independent commission are running the game as a business, to leave it as strong as possible for the future, the players are the ones with self-interest and a vested interest. They get paid handsomely for what they do - I’d be playing hard ball if I were PVL. If the players don’t like it, see you later, go try earn the same money elsewhere.
And if I were a club with a player currently on the books on a ridiculously over inflated salary, I’d be using the failure to meet media requirements as a way to sack em. f**k em!

Wait you want players to play for free? Get back in the time machine and go back to 1908 where you came from

Well the poms should invite and organise more. Or do you want Australia to do everything?

Obviously no

the arlc controls the test series here

the tongan tour to England has nothing to do with the arlc they will be paid by the poms

Well they are played in mid range grounds, with limited corporate facilites.

TV rights are added into the seasons, Sky aren't paying extra neither are fox here.

cheap tickets, Business class tickets, Quality food. It isn't a cheap excercise putting on an International
