You can play for the equivalent against those sides though. Outside of their nation not playing the sport, no one is excluded from having the opportunity to play international footy.

No I can't, I'm ineligible to play state of origin despite being an Australian citizen and living in NSW for 25 years.

I am not sure why you would be ineligible but if what you say is true i would suggest the eligibility rules need amending.

You are excluded from playing Origin if you weren't living in either state prior to the age of 13 (with the exception being if your Dad played for either state.

Bingo, I was born and lived in South Australia until the age of 14, I can play for Australia but cannot play for NSW or Queensland. Its possible to be born overseas and be allowed to play for Australia but not play be ineligible for Queensland or NSW.

You don't need to ignore race or colour, that is the point. It is not racism to acknowledge someone is Aboriginal, Maori or has different colour skin. Its racism when that acknowledgement come along with a sense of superiority based on that race or skin colour.
