Why on earth is it so hard to get a hold of NRL stats?

FFS, you go on NRL.com and you can't even see who the NRL's leading try scorer is, what is this, 1995?

The best you can get is on leaguehq.com.au and even then they don't update it swiftly and it's hidden within the ladder menu.

Well, no. Once again I can't find a list of top try scorers this year, or most linebreaks by a player this year etc etc..

EDIT: Ok so the project one had the top try scorers, but I'm after every stat.

Or NRL could be like any other major sporting code and have proper season stat listings on their website. Why they don't, I'm not sure.

They must have - because I think the OP makes a very fair point. The limited database of statistics available through the official NRL website is absurd.

There was a more recent article than the one below published in the days leading up to the opening round that reported the NRL Stats contract was still not sealed and that the premiership was likely to kick off with an interim arrangement in place. Either way it sounds like the NRL are trying to shake up their statistics service so we're probably just stuck in limbo until it's sorted out...

Maybe the whole point of this delay is because the NRL want to provide exactly the sort of service that the original poster is requesting, but to do that they've got to disentangle it from an under performing existing provider. Time will tell.

Interesting, I always wondered why they got rid of them, because I definitely know back in like 04 and 03 (the old NRL site) had all those sort of stat listings, like the superleague website displays right now.

Hopefully they get it sorted soon and get them back on the site, just seems like a silly omission to me.

It really is a joke that there is no publicly available leader boards for all stats in the NRL.

At least stuff like Try assists and line breaks are available so you can add them up yourself. Try finding line break assists... its freaking impossible

not that many stats, but some of the more important ones.. and also line break assists as you said.

It's so they can sell access to fantasy league stat sites. Another annoying scourge on the game, just like gambling.

NRL.com has 'assistant coach' for it's fantasy league which is $14.95 per year, which I believe gives you access to historical stats. Ever since fantasy league became popular they've slowly been scaling down free access to stats.

The rugby league live app has stats. I know it's on Android, not sure about apple. Tries, try assist, linebreaks, linebreak assists, overall points, and offloads. No tackles unfortunately.
