I had spoken of this in another thread where the French league are within jumping distance to a fully professional league but that will need Catalans and Toulouse to commit.
If you could prop up 6 or 8 clubs financially for 5 to 10 years and get Toulouse and Catalans on board, you might grow something worthy of a TV deal... but you'll be going up against the the strongest and richest Union comp in the world.
You could go with a 2 divisional conference system in Europe with 1 conference containing 10 English teams and the French conference having 4 teams.
the English sides play each other twice both home&away giving you 18 games and have crossover fixtures with the French sides again both home&away giving the English teams another 6 games and a total of 24 regular season games.
the French teams in the French conference would play the English teams twice home&away giving them 18 games and play the other French teams twice home&away giving them another 6 games with a total of 24 regular season games.
the top 3 English teams along with the top French team from each conference qualify for the playoffs Giving you semi-finals and then the grandfinal.
the beauty of this format is that there would be no relegation from the French conference while only 1 team relegated from the English conference.
