The NRL have Perth knocking on their door, Norths sniffing at any opportunity they can chase, Brisbane bids that could have a tilt at a spot (including the rejected bids from the last "beauty contest"), and NZ 2 and Adelaide (no active bid, but fertile ground to take the battle to Super Rugby & AFL respectively)...

Nope no mistake, there is no perth bid, other than bears hooking up with WA govt, Same as NZ, Adelaide is a waste of time, theyre not even playing RL, NRL doesn't want another SEQ team, not yet anyways, NRL also doesn't want anymore NSW based franchises....

or Bears or Easts could move to WA,SA,NZ

A lot of money for a small city to spend on a stadium but will be a nice facility when finished. Hopefully some clubs will take games there when done.

I think there will eventually be a second team in NZ and that will be a good thing in the long term.

There is a lot of work to be done with the Warriors and pathways first though

f**k your dumb... the whole point of a salary cap is to keep the comp even, and mostly to make sure clubs don't overspend beyond their means, you give the warriors an extra mil, then titans will want some too, then it'll be the tigers, when does it stop?

I don’t know about extra money on the salary cap but maybe they need extra money with establishing better junior pathways, particularly as they haven’t had that since COVID.

I think the Warriors and in future a second NZ side really need to find ways to keep the best talent from NZ - the fact that the Warriors are having to recruit from Australia is exactly the problem

That's the same argument PR has regarding Perth and its pathways or lack of funding, basically how can anyone produce and keep talent, whilst being a competitive club...
Generally it needs to be funded independently, asking for hand outs is the same as begging, which the Arlc wont bother with.. hence why perth has been ignored time and time again, NZ have restated their own comp, it will bear fruit, but how can prosper if the warriors aren't directly tied to it, if we use penrith or souths as an example, they both have junior teams in the nswcup and all levels below, warriors need to do the same, im fairly sure andrew webster will look to implement some thing like that, and start up a production line of sorts, keeping local talent in the warriors system without other clubs knocking is the hard part, but being able to be giving them your scraps is where you wanna get to

Look I agree with the salary cap (or whatever other model you want to use for talent distribution) being equal -although it is not really atm but that is a different story altogether.

I disagree totally about the grant though. To me it makes no sense that a club like the Roosters or Broncos are getting the same amount of money from the NRL than the Tigers, Sharks, Knights or the Warriors. Some of latter clubs have either been very financially precarious (Knights and Sharks), not doing what is best for the league (Tigers - get them to move to MacArthur region please) or like the Warriors are victims of circumstances that essentially means they haven’t had a junior competition. They could even tie these bigger grants to greater investments in junior football etc
