thats not so much the case here RU, is basically not televised unless it an internation. Super RU has gone from having all games on free to air TV to none.
The elite schools RU is basically a dead end. You just have to look at the number of players from GPS first teams that kick on and even play first grade in the Shute shield.

Thursday and Friday nights are the biggest ratings night for League so the Thursday timeslot could be a winner as far as exposure goes and showing what a great product women`s Rugby League is for potential new fans. I`m pretty sure that Nine will have it on their main channel too.
Crowd wise not ideal though, hopefully they can still get around the twenty thousand mark which will look good on tv.
I`m taking my daughter, I rang her a couple of days ago to tell her to keep June 1 free we`re going out. She would have been a great League player, she`s a real little tiger, when she played soccer as a teen she won player of the year in her mainly boys` team, not because of her skill, but she was in their boots and all at every contest. I reckon she would have been a real Ray Price, but prettier of course. LOL.
If you had a lived a bit closer I would have shouted you a ticket, it should be a great night, Commbank is a great stadium for League.

I still hope we can make the womens SOO a best of 3 soon. I still think to a lot of fans it doesn't feel like a proper series because it's one game. Hard to build a rivalry with that as well. It makes sense as well, the opportunity is right there to play it alongside all the mens games and build it up as a part of the origin fever.

If Union in Oz no longer wields any establishment clout, why did Nine take the Covid NRL reduction and hand it to ARU? Couldn't have been commercial factors. They must have known the SR ratings would be derisory.

Firstly, she's been playing League and Union in Auckland for a few years now. Her League club is Ponsonby. She also turned out for Tonga in a League Pacific Test against Niue in 2020.

Have you ever noticed the R in acronyms like NRL or NRLW? What do you think it stands for?

There's a headline at the moment on NRL.com - "Asofa-Solomona secures Storm Future amidst Rugby interest". To most people this translates as "Rugby player remains with current Rugby club despite interest from Rugby".

Referring to RU as "Rugby" turns NRL stories into utter gibberish for 99.9% of the world's population.

All the data I've seen indicates that Friday night is consistently the highest rating of the three NRL FTA slots. Two WSOO games this year, but moving to Thursday still seems like a downgrade.

They will be on the nights following men's SOO 1 and 2. Don't know how that will play out. Similar to the double-header fixture dilemma i.e. is it better for the women to play before or after the men? Standard practice is to go before but over here a few WSL clubs schedule for after.

Good to hear you're going. Perhaps she'll return the favour and escort you to the second game in Townsville. Warning! - this will involve crossing the border into Queensland. Find a map - it's the large area to the North of you.

Numbers at women's standalone RL games will only really grow if the female participation boom (Tackle, Tag, Touch) leads to girls coaxing parents and other relatives to attend. This is primarily how the crowds for women's Soccer have risen.

There were 58k at Twickers for the England v France women's Rugger at the weekend. Some hopes of that in League. I have no faith in the traditional male RL fanbase. For the most part, they're either misogynous morons or virtue-signalling woke lefties. Members of neither of these groups will go to women's games.

The riff have done a backflip and started funding their women's program. With no HNWP team it might be hard.

In the CBA Cycle ( 2023 to 2027) the NRL can add a maximum of 2 new teams to the NRLW Comp. - either in 2024 for the 2025 season or in 2025 for the 2026 season

The Warriors will be one and the second out of Bulldogs/Souths/Penrith I assume.

Leaving 2 out of Bulldogs/Souths/Penrith and Dolphins/ Storm/Manly to apply for inclusion in the 2028 to 2032 CBA Cycle.

Whispers about Storm being fast tracked for a wider audience reach than adding another Sydney Team in this next expansion ?

The Roosters have signed only 23 for the NRLW season - will there be a 24th - Wondering about the 4 development contracts too.

I did hear they were trying to get an exemption for 17 year old Aliyah Nasio to be able to play NRLW - Haven't heard anymore

French Women's International Perinne Monsarrat obviously didn't get a full contract - maybe a development one ?

why was that?

I hope the Roosters list the whole NRLW squad - only 23 listed - must be a 24th and 4 development players.

Skyla Adams signed with the Broncos and Brooke Talataina with the Wests Tigers from the premiership winning Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup side in 2023.

I was hoping both may have got development contracts at least- be interesting to see who did - Hopefully Ally Bullman did
