Think there was some dramas with the Tarsha Gale Cup coach apparently picking less qualified players who she also happens to teach at school over Mercedez, so wouldn’t surprise if she has left. Never played a game this season. Playing favourites and nepotism seems to be a common occurrence in the Knights junior ranks at the moment, boys and girls.

Shanice Parker has re-signed until 2028 in better news.

The Roosters were last year's premiers. It's not a real stretch that they have a few in the Origin squad. 6/30 isn't even that high a percentage

There seemed to be a very obvious spine/backline from the original squad:

1. Verran (fka Tonegato) / Church
2. Chapman
3. Kelly
4. Sergis
5. Penitani
6. Dibb
7. Southwell
9. Higgins
14. Kelleher / Davies

Instead somehow it's ended up with Strange shoehorning a few of his Roosters players in. Can't convince me Fressard would be anywhere near the team otherwise, even assuming the obvious omissions are unavailable. Davies and Kelleher at 9 and 14 over the incumbent Jillaroos hooker as well.

Penitani at 6 while Dibb is on the extended bench is the biggest head scratcher of them all.

As much as I love Higgins, Davies is the more dangerous hooker and Kellaher had a fantastic finals series in 2024. If anything she should be the teams 6 over Penitani.

Too much depth for NSW to choose from. Would have been good if both States had released their 30 squads to see who missed out.
