That's getting realistic ... five new players for the series and Hayne returning. Good team, but it would be one of the biggest brooms ever put through a team.

1. Brett Stewart
2. Jarryd Hayne (Is he eligible to play ? If not then Monaghan. I LOL'd when they picked Turner)
3. Mark Gasnier
4. Matt Cooper
5. Anthony Quinn
6. Braith Anasta
7. Matt Orford (Surely he deserves at least ONE go at origin)
8. Brent Kite
9. Robbie Farah
10. Mark O'Meley
11. Anthony Hoffman
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Greg Bird

14. Luke Lewis (can play anywhere except prop ... a true utility)
15. Willie Mason
16. Anthony Laffranchi if you want a worker or Tupou if you want an offloader.
17. Luke Bailey or Jason Ryles. Back to the Future  ... but we do need 3 props.

No one has ever played for the Kiwis, and then Qld or NSW. Carroll went the other way and obvioulsy regretted it.

Mateo or Sutton are both similar players. Pick them.

Doesn't matter either way. I think Lam played for PNG first.

SBW's eligible. NSW under 17's rep - that's how Greg "Bluey" Inglis is eligible for the Morons.

Not sure what you're saying?

The crux of the side remains. The outside backs remain the same as Origin One. Wallace and Buderus are retained, and Mullen comes in so he can provide the centres with quality ball with Bird shifting to lock where he belongs. The forward pack got badly beaten, when we couldn't beat them with speed we didn't have much tbh so we need an extra prop. Picking different players in the forwards particularly the names I put forward isn't going to hurt the team structure.

You have bailey twice. I would have Ogre in there, his form of late has been great, playing far better than Mason.
Kite destroyed O'Meley on Sunday.

But yeh, Bailey will be picked. So will Anasta. Bird to Lock. Mason was terrible!!

Where would you play Lewis when he comes on?

Mainly in the backrow or lock. He repped for City in the second row this year. Farah is an 80 minute player, Buderus isnt. IF your hooker can play 80 minutes, why waste a bench spot ? Stack it with forwards, and kick arse (its a Roosters trick from 2002 ... Simon Bonetti could play 80 minutes, so we stacked our bench with forwards for the arse-kicking feature :))

If there is an injury, there isnt really a position in the backline he cant cover. Not sure i'd have him at fullback though.

Lewis is a great utility but he's not that fantastic at any one position. This is origin, surely we can find 13 blokes from the whole state who can do a specialised job and 4 big boppers on the bench to interchange our battering rams.

1. Stewart
2. Hayne
3. Gasnier
4. Cooper
5. Lawrence

6. Anasta
7. Wallace

8. Bailey
9. Buderus
10. Cross
11. Laffranchi
12. Gallen
13. Bird

14. Farah
15. Mason
16. Topou
17. O'Meley

A few points.

*On the wing spot I picked Lawrence but any other large winger type will do. Not a slight against Quinn but the Storm wingers blindly obeying Craigs up and in defence and getting found out will continue to plague us.

* I would drop Hoffman because as good as he is he is a very good representative for his club and Australia but I just don't think he is big enough or offers enough metres and options in attack. It came down to a choice between he and Laffranchi for mine and Laffranchi won out.

* Fitzgibbon has been solid but a back rower playing front rower does not cut it and there are much better back rowers than he already in the side.

* Came very close to putting Ryles in the side but in all honesty I think he has one too many handling errors in his game.

* Farah needs some decent game time which will a) keep Buderus fresh so he can be more effecticve and b) Give Farah time to work the team in his own style

Simpson was an absolute waste of space in the team tonight...shouldn't have been picked in the first place and shouldn't be picked again. Kiddley wasn't much better either. Farah should get a spot on the bench for the next game, and we definately should go in with more than 1 front rower. Its no wonder we struggled to get out of our own half when we fielded basically a whole forward pack of second rowers. I'd get Kite in there and even another front rower. Turner must go as well

For those Newcastle fans suggesting moving Stewart from fullback, if he wasn't defending there tonight Qld score another 3 tries. He seemed to be the only one on the field who could tackle Inglis. While he was extremely quiet in attack, it can't be held against him because every NSW player was useless in attack.

Who ever decided it was a good idea to go into the match with ONE prop foward should be sacked!!! Also why the hell didn't Monaghan get a run at wing instead of Turner. Inglis made Gasnier and Turner look very very ordinary tonight.

True, but if we took out Watmough, Stewart, Menzies and Perry while we had our best pack except for Lopini Paea (compensating for cuthbo) then Ogre probably would have destroyed Kite.

Anyway Either is Better than playing a second rower there.
