You are 100% right mate.

They can have their quiet ale, but unfortunately they need to be a little more selective as to where they have it.

Dugan has so far done a tremendous job in restoring trust and respectability to his image, but unfortunately in todays world of social media and the general main stream media... perception is reality. They could have been handing food to the homeless but if someone decides to call up a journo and say Dugan and Ferguson were belting a couple of blokes at a pub what do you think will make the front page?

He does have the right to have a drink oustide of work, it's not his fault there are dickhead journos out there looking for shit to stir...

But that's my point unfortunately, they are out there and he needs to be carefull....

It's the way it works, who's going to tell the media what they can and can't write?

I guess You and I agree that this is a probably a beat up, I'm just saying prevention is beter than cure whn it comes to these types of things.

No dispute there buddy. Zero.
Now i need to take my blood pressure tablets lol
Cheers champ:)

Oh gosh, he had a drink at club! He is setting such a bad example for the kids! :sarcasm: I had to laugh yesterday when some stupid woman on facebook bemoaned how Dugan doesn't deserve to be in SOO while James Tamou 'wasn't so lucky'. another example of the media brainwashing people- she compared being 4 times over the limit with passengers, to drinking on a roof top...

Buddy i respect your opinion.
Bottom line is as far as we know he did nothing wrong.
They both are close, both wearing the SOO jersey, what is wrong with having a quiet ale?
Dugan has been a great ambassador since comiong to us. From his on field performances, to his interviews on several shows.
He cant dig a hole for months and not rise...
Agree regarding the region, but in reality this is a pissy article to ignite debate and sell papers.
Why should he not have the right, outside of work to have a drink ?
Finished my rant friend, just sick of the targetting. For God's sake, what did these two guys do ?

+1

Everyone is quick to have Fergo and Dugan hung, drawn and quartered without having a clue on what really transpired.

Maybe Trent Barrett is to blame for handing out VB's after game 1 and setting a bad example to all by taking the twist top off using his teeth.

String him up also.......

Seriously though, this is a form of social hysteria. Manufactured news. Guilt by association. So much fear instilled into the way we live that we change the way we act ... and worse still become suspicious of everyone and everything - all in the guise of 'that's just the way it is'.

A drink with a mate is normal - and Josh Dugan must be allowed to test his 'new character' in these very situations to know he is good - just like Ben Creagh does when he has a beer with mates.

We can all jump and jive like we just don't care, but bottom line, these guys have form. No matter how innocent it looks they are guilty already in peoples minds. Within seconds an incident is up on Facebook or twitter and by then its too late. We can't have 24 minders with these guys, but don't put yourself in that position to start with FFS.Dugan,Carney, Ferguson ...are easy targets for idiots wanting to screw up a career on big $.
