I Bleed Green I don't think you'll find many Dragon's fans that would believe A. Dugan is the perfect player with no faults on or off the field or B. That being out on the turps at 1030pm with Fergo the night before SOO camp is a good idea.

The few reposted social media reports from people who were there state that Dugan was acting like a bit of a clown but pulled his head in when asked. Doesn't excuse his choices that night but it shows me he is not beyond redemption.

And one thing I like about the Dragons is that from memory the worst things our players have done in recent years are leaving rubbish at a KFC, Gaz's infamous text and Trent Barrett dancing in his undies. We offered a home to Wendell Sailor after his fall from grace and the fans embraced him as he showed a genuine desire to work hard and play good footy.

Dugan has been given that same chance and while it won't be all plain sailing he will get plenty of support from the fans because that is part of our club's culture. So yes he is "our problem" now and I don't mind one bit at all because we will collectively do our best to get the best out of him as a player and a person.

Top post ... well said.
Dugan is no angel... who is ?
As for being out with a mate... well what can i say.
Ohh i know.. did he do anything wrong / illegal or immoral ?
Even the argument that he was out that night holds no substance.
Big deal!!!
If it comes to fruition that he asualted anyone, then i will be the first to condemn.
In the meantime, as mentioned by above, he is under our mentorship and we have a pretty good damn record in this regard.

Canberra really have bad luck with managing their players' behaviour. But is it a lack of luck, or the Raiders' problem? There seems to be a toxic culture of misbehaviour in that club, and maybe they lack leadership to put them in the right direction. Even Joel Monaghan was disgraced at that club!

I had a big argument with a couple old guys at work today, both had played some lower grade footy, and said this stuff went on all the time, no big deal, blah, blah, blah. Big difference, is the modern day footballer is paid, big money, the corporate dollar, sponsorship, contracts, TV, social media etc, mean this is a changed world. I argued the ex-footy players now in media or in the ARL/NRL are out of touch with what is expected of professional sportsmen today.

...make no mistake, lots of riff raff and bogan bad stuff happens in Canberra. Having lived there for 3 years with two 18-20 y.o. sons I saw it.

Still, to live there IS the best kept secret in Australia. And an easy 3 hour drive to Dragons home games ! : )
