NSW Origin side 2010

i do have confidence in this side already, i think it should go pretty well. Practically the same players as last year in game three. The NSW players had hit their stride by that time of the year.

Its still fairly early in the season but players really should be hitting their straps pretty much around now, which is what Inglis has done for example.

give the team the chance they deserve, I think they will be better than everyone expects. I do think idris will get smacked though, hope he proves us wrong

Cooper has set up many for Brett Morris though, I am glad that combination will be carried into origin. I seriously doubt that Willie Tonga will have any impact on that side with Cooper there.

Well both Jennings and Morris have scored more tries then Cooper/Tahu. Centres score tries ours won't

Well then shoot, why isn't Beau Champion there?

Do you want to know why?

Because he's average.

Seriously, the distance between Tahu and Jennings as players isn't that big, and Cooper is easily better than Morris or Jennings.

Its not the exact side Id pick (no Gallen is a mystery to me) but I can see the value in the direction the selectors are going.

In game 1 last year I think we had 17 players from 14 different clubs. How they expected them to develope cohesive combos in just 10 days is beyond me. Having Cooper and Morris on 1 side and Tahu and Hayne on the other is a good move and will pay off imo.

Swap Idris for Gallen and Id have no issues

Whatever you say. You should be a NSW selector. You'd fit right in.

The backline is probably the strongest we have fielded in a couple of years...

The pack is perhaps the weakest we have fielded in the same period of time...only one weaker was the one beat a weakened QLD pack in a dead rubber.

Cooper is the best fit right now, he has been in good form, owned Idris on Friday night for example.

Cooper and Morris are a combination. I felt that Josh Morris getting injured hurt his chances, Morris to team up with his brother is the only other guy who seriously should have challenged for the spot.

Jennings looks about 75-80% atm with that knee issue.

Does anyone think the naming of Idris on the bench is a smoke screen for some major changes to the side that actually runs on?

It's plain stupidity starting a centre on the bench. Makes absolutey no sense.

Hope so. I wouldn't put it past Bellamy to waste a back on the bench, though. It happened in 2008 with Stewart, 2009 with Morris, 2010 could very well with Idris. On the upside he was more upbeat about Idris than the other two so it looks like Idris will actually have a role to play.

Because Tahu will be playing on the right and not the left? Pfft seriously, left and right centre is not that specialised

And Hayne playing on the wing didnt stop him from being NSW player of the series last year either

I still think we're very light on play makers.

Origin is always very tight and you need a bit of magic/brilliance to break the game open.

I might be biased but Hayne MUST start at fullback & Luke Lewis needs to be our 13.

I just can't see us creating enough in attack through Gidley-Lyon-Kimmorley-Ennis. These blokes will give 100% but I don't see any brilliance there...

I smell that as well. I get a sense that the team looks awkward the way it is and that certain changes make it seem alot stronger. Kurt Gidley to 5/8 pushes Lyon to centre, Tahu to wing and Hayne to fullback and suddenly we have a stronger team IMO.

I just think that is giving the selectors too much credit.

It is specialised, especially when Tahu's main attacking weapon is his right hand palm, which will be useless on the right.

Hayne will be good anywhere he plays

Just like last year how selecting Morris on the bench was a trick.

Oh wait.. it wasn't.
