We don't play hayne at 5/8 for parra so lets not play him there at rep level please.

1. Hayne
2. B.Morris
3. Jennings
4. Lyon
5.
6. Barret
7. Pearce
8. Weyman
9. Ennis
10. White
11. Hindy
12. Gallen
13. Watmough

14. Lewis
15. TLL
16. Poore
17. Creagh

We had lots of problems on the flanks in defence last night, none of the players trusted their inside man, i was disappointed with Cooper and Morris, one would think they would have a little more communication/trust. Also someone needs to tell the outside backs to not come in every time they spread it wide. Wayy to many times were they racing up and missing their man

Right, here is the thing (or things).

Selecting backs because of their size is a flawed theory. Bellamy likes Beau Scott and Matt Cooper for their size. When Tahu walked out, Monaghan was picked because he was the biggest option. Yet none of them offer anything in attack.

Just like Pim's pathetic World Cup selections, it is a team picked with a view to containing the opposition when in reality the best way to battle a great attack is to attack back. That's why they need players such as Jennings in there that can cause headaches.

Also, the Ennis experiment must surely be over now. Get Farah in there.

Five-eighth is a huge concern. Stick with Pearce at No.7 but I have no idea what to do about five-eighth. Possibly Greg Bird who is a proven Origin player.

And the forwards, well, enough said. They were woeful up-front. Bring in Kade, Timmy.

I think it's good to pick big defensive centres, but they have looked like a kangaroo in headlights. As Gould said last night, they never rush up and defend like that for the Dragons, why did they do it over and over again last night.

Seriously, NSW needs to get back to the basics, some second phase play and marking up would help!!

funny - i just asked that exact question in another thread .... yeah they were totally lost defending like that - can only assume they were instructed to do it and because they rarely ever do it normally they had no clue

Hayne plays more 5/8th for us than he does fullback!

If he plays 5/8th for NSW then there is less confusion amongst the other players. They had no idea who should get the ball last night!

Like Strider said, they might've been instructed to come in and apply pressure as both flanks were doing it and not only once.

Maybe Bellamy was trying to work on the c'bury umbrella defense.

Hindy was awesome, in everything.

I thought Beau Scott went OK. Better than the fairy in the other centre spot. Ennis was playing well until they felt compelled to put Gidley on there. I know we were down at that stage but it seemed like we lost any sort of grunt when Gidley came on.

Following O'Donnell's fight, why would you throw a fairy like Gidley on there?? Ennis was perfect for that stage of the game.

Anyway my game 3 team:

1. Hayne
2. B Moz
3. Scott
4. Tahu
5. Jennings
6. Baz
7. Pearce
13. Gallen
12. Watmough
11.Hindmarsh (c)
10. White
9. Ennis
8. Weyman

14. Farah
15. Mannah
16. Creagh
17. Waterhouse

I don't mind having 2 hookers. So I like the Farah, ennis idea

Poor tactics in both attack and defence lost the game!

The first 20 mins we looked like a team that had never seen each other before! Noone seemed to know who should get the ball, it got slightly better but still poor! Then in defence the backs (on both sides) were continually caught out, rushing up unecessarily etc.

Surely Bellamy has been found out as an imposter?????

Heh, hands up if anyone here wants Haynesy back at 5/8th...honestly it'd take alot of his defensive load off and give him alot more ball. Heck, he does 1st AND 2nd reciever for parra anyway.

Mate, moving him to five-eighth would dramatically increase his defensive workload.

It's an insane idea.

The reason hayne is so effect from fullback is because he can pick when to get involved.

If he plays it all the time he will not have the influence that he does now.

NSW problem start from the top. From the commitee down. Bob carr was more worried about having folau banned & was yapping non stop regarding his selection but when the race row came about he didnt have a word to say. Success starts at the top & nsw do not have that.

I don't agree with that.

Kenny, Fittler, Daley played 5/8th and picked and chose when to come in.

Yes, they had great halves to control the play.

Mortz and KK control those plays now but not as good as Stuart or Sterlo.

Yes he would have to defend more but he is young and should be fit enough.

At fullback, he has to do hitups and run the ball back from kicks. At 5/8th he doesn't.

And finally, he will have to do it if he wants to get into the class of Lockyer, Thurston.

It will mean he has to develop more tricks rather than how our best halfback friend finchy did it, inside pass, inside pass, dummy run, bomb.
