yeah so drop ryan :D

Coaches preference. Hindmarsh is a better defender, Ryan offers more in attack these days. If they go for an agressive bench (Say, Gallen AND Watmough), Hindmarsh should be there to steady the ship. If the bench is a bit conservative, go Ryan.

1.brett stewart
2.josh morris
3.matt cooper
4.dean collis
5.jarryd hayne
6.jarrod mullen
7.brett kimmorley
8.willie mason
9.danny buderus
10.mark o'meley
11.andrew ryan
12.steve simpson
13.greg bird

14.robbie farah
15.jason ryles
16.paul gallen
17.ryan hoffman

the reason we cant score points is simple...we dont pick skillful footballers. Lets get some skill into our side and see what happens. No king, lyon, kite, anasta, hindmarsh, white and bailey....lets pair up cooper and morris (both play at the same club) and collis and hayne (hayne would have a field day outside collis) in the 3/4 line.

Mullen is a natural 5/8 and is the future.

O'meley is pure aggression and ryles offers ball playing and experience.

There is no reason why farah and buderus cant work in tandem (farah to hooker and buderus to lock...much like farah and halatau at club level)

Paul Gallen is the best tackle busting and offloading backrower in the game today.

I dont care if this team loses by 20....come next year we will have given valuable experience to guys who can win us back the shield.

Even though I am a queenslander I'd go with this

1. Stewart
2. Hayne
3. Collis (GK)
4. Cooper (face it his job has been to stop hodges guys and he has done that)
5. Grothe
6. Mullen
7. Carney (stuff Kimmorley..look he may have been pretty decent but the no7 is there to create and he had about 10 sets on the qld line and came up with nothing, the one try came from a piece of billiance from brett stewart FFS)
8. Mason
9. Farah
10. O'Meley
11. Whatmough
12. Ryan (c)
13. Bird
14. Maitua
15. Hoffman
16. Payten
17. Ryles

obviously many of you fellow contributors missed seeing Watmough AKA Watsdefence play himself out of SOO2 in his last match with his horrible attempt at tackling Penriths Tony Puletua.
It was a disgraceful attempt

so for ONE single tackle out of the huindreds he would have made this year you blacklist him, despite all the strong runs and consectuive MOM performances? Ridiculus sir. but also, I think you forgetting that NSW selectors dont care how badly you play as long as you've been their before, how else do you explain lyons automatic pick, anastas continued picks, coopers pick, kings pick, watmough has played 1 SOO therefore more than eligible for selections. Those damn NSW selectors cream their pants over guys who have played origin before it so annoying.

I was pissed off stewart wasnt fullback game 1 he deserved it more than the other guy (i dislike him so i no longer wish to use his name), that was a great opportunity for him to play: he was in sensational form, scoring tries, playing consistently, fullback each week with the top team and the roosters fullback had just come back from like a year off and wasnt back to his best and they STILL pikced him. players of stewarts ability, such as gallen, creah, watmough, collis, carney deserve thier shot without having to stick pins in voodoo dolls hoping for injuries to open the door

Watmough played with the flu against Penrith. God forbid that a guy who couldn't train for a part of the week missed a tackle!

sorry about that double post i hit "post" then quickly hit "Stop" on browser to ad some more sh*t in, didnt make it apparently so while im posting now Ill just re-iterate about buderus number 3 hooker in the game IMO and getting older while number 1 streaks away with his test jersey and repuatation and number 2 farah seems to actually be getting YOUNGER with each game in contrast to bedsy, therefore give farah a shot now before its series 2008 over and people start talking about origin being dead but because of NSW consecutive losses

You're a goose. He was tackling him until he got a poke to the eye from Neumann and naturally fell off.

He also got a Dally M point in that match. You coincidentally missed his linebreak in the first minute that led to Robertson's try?

8--young stewart the no1 and let the count have a break

excuse me dont "let" stewart keep his place so that count ur referring to can have a break, as if he is so great that he deserves some time off to recharge his batteries, hes so great that he uses FOUR double A's and they are out of juice because he has just shone SOOOOO brightly this year, give me a break fella, by this stage stewart is there because he belongs there, he was in better form before game 1, better form in between game 2 and had a better game than his competition did in game 1, stewart deserves his chance to make the number 1 his own, not damn 19

Where the hell has the running second rower gone?

Do they all play for New Zealand? Surely you don't need a guy there just to make tackles. Just form the line and just make the tackles that are yours.

Having a backrow which wants to run into gaps rather than tackle will be a step towards winning.

Ok, firsty congrats to QLD. They have a great coach, great depth and great pride and passion for the Maroon Jersey.
Secondly, I don't normally like to blame coaches but Murray needs to go with Bellamy taking the position.
Thirdly, QLD's defence was excellent however NSW needs players that can break the line, put the defence in two minds which hasn't happened since 2005.

If I wanted to experiment a bit with some inform players my line up would look like this...

1. Brett Stewart
2. Hazem El Masri (GK)
3. Chris Lawrence
4. Matt Cooper
5. Jarryd Hayne
6. Jarrod Mullen
7 Brett Kimmorley
8. Mark O'Meley
9. Robbie Farah
10.Willie Mason
11.Ryan Hoffman
12.Nathan Hindmarsh (c)
13.Braith Anasta

14. Anthony Laffranchi
15. Greg Bird
16. Brent Kite
17. Reni Maitua

Chances are Falou and Inglis will be on the wings for Queensland next match. El Masri will be eaten alive and then some if they were to play.

Having a half or 5/8 that puts the ball into the right position for backrowers to run into gaps might help as well...

We don't have much to lose at this stage. One thing is for sure, he couldnt have played any worse then King. El Masri knowns how to find the line is most cirumstances

Having a 5/8 would have helped NSW last night...instead they got a passenger in a #6 jersey. No matter how hard Kimmorley tried, the lack of impact and creativity from the #6 hurt NSW the most. I think the commentators might have said his name twice in the whole game.
