Ok, firsty congrats to QLD. They have a great coach, great depth and great pride and passion for the Maroon Jersey.
Secondly, I don't normally like to blame coaches but Murray needs to go with Bellamy taking the position.
Thirdly, QLD's defence was excellent however NSW needs players that can break the line, put the defence in two minds which hasn't happened since 2005.

If I wanted to experiment a bit with some inform players my line up would look like this...

1. Brett Stewart
2. Hazem El Masri (GK)
3. Chris Lawrence
4. Matt Cooper
5. Jarryd Hayne
6. Jarrod Mullen
7 Brett Kimmorley
8. Mark O'Meley
9. Robbie Farah
10.Willie Mason
11.Ryan Hoffman
12.Nathan Hindmarsh (c)
13.Braith Anasta

14. Anthony Laffranchi
15. Greg Bird
16. Brent Kite
17. Reni Maitua

Brent Kite is a S.O.O farce!

He played 20+ minutes last night in 2 spells with 50+ minute gap in between if you count half time. 5 minutes into his second spell he was languishing in the background while the blues were in attack hands on hips.

He's solid for Manly, but utter sh*t in Sky Blue. How many more chances is he gonna get?? The only thing he has done well is wasting space and stopping an opportunity for someone constructive to be in the team.

Player, metres, minutes, metres/minute
Mason, 174, 53, 3.3
Kite, 97, 32, 3.0
Hoffman, 101, 37, 2.7
Bailey, 99, 48, 2.1
Bird, 67, 33, 2.0
Ryan, 122, 80, 1.5
White, 40, 27, 1.5
Hindmarsh, 64, 57, 1.1
Simpson, 45, 43, 1.0

Kite plays 50-60 minutes for Manly each week, arguably the fittest team in the comp, no way was he 'languishing' behind.

I think some big changes have to be made. I highly doubt they will be though.

I'd go:

1-A.Minichello
2-B.Stewart
3-M.King
4-L.Lewis
5-J.Hayne
6-J.Mullen
7-B.Kimmorley
8-M.O'Meeley
9-R.Farah
10-W.Mason
11-S.Simpson
12-B.Creagh
13-A.Ryan

14-P.Gallen
15-G.Bird
16-N.Hindmarsh
17-J.Ryles

----------------------

I would love to see Todd Carney at 5/8, and no club loyalty at all, I really believe he's the best man for the job. However, given some reports today that he'll be returning to footy in two weeks, it'll mean he has one club game to show what he can do, and that all but rules him out.

I don't think he'd let anyone down, but I think if he was the last lock forward left alive he'd still struggle for a guernsey.

geez whoever did those stats must have been watching a different game to me. I made a concious effort to watch Kite and Anasta the whole game whenever possible just see what they actually do....... Both did sweet FA.

Oh Kite nearly cost the blues a try by dropping the ball and Berrigan picked it up for a near try.... thats about all he did.

But instead he gained them ten metres and a new set of six ;-)

I was more concerned at Buderus' arm-grab attempt at a tackle on Berrigan after that. He was more interested in complaining to the referee than by playing by the whistle.

Kite would've made about 12 hit-ups, so those stats would be about right.

Agree with that side, Pom is on the top try scorers list. He has good defence and isn't intimidated by the big game players. He can also fight. ie, when he dropped Webb.

Simmo, what can i say. Hits holes at sleep, scores trys and is very fast. We needed someone like Simmos attacking flair last night.

Noddy, Best option we have ATM, great kicking last night. Just looked a bit lost in the QLD 20M.

Greg Bird, does deserve his position in the team. If Mullen isn't fit play him at 5/8 (scored 4 tries in 2 games). Greg Bird is very good in origin, Murray used him very poorly last night.

Rhyss Williams is killing it ATM, can play anywhere, can fill centres or play in the forwards. Can score a try and has a good fend and can read attack well.

Gallen, We need some mongrel in this pack. He wouldn't of taken a backward step last night + has a good offload for second phase play. He should attack the fringes.

Douglas, Sharks rookie of the year last year. Now its his chance to step up , he is still only like 22 or 23. He will get a rep jersey eventually, why not just give him one now?

TBH it does but he can't play. Covell is one of the best wingers in the game. Can get up and take bombs (safest hands), got an awesome fend, breaks the line ( on the top list ) and really good defence. He is incredibly quick over 20 metres ( Ie against the Dragons) But lacks over 100m, i guess Simmo can make up for that.

Hasn't he played for Country Origin?

Pretty sure he made his debut for country origin when Simmo made his for city.
But after that im pretty sure he has said he wanted to play for NZ.

Well I guess he's got half a chance of making the NZ side if Manu doesn't manage to find a tube of superglue

Just an idea.

Is it too late for the Blues to poach some NZ talent like QLD have with cutie and Carroll?

Dunny Bill Williams and Astotasi would look good in Sky Blue... even Wiki would do. :)
