NSW team lists and insults thread 2018

The one thing that worries me about a Mitchell/Roberts centre pairing for NSW is their defence. Neither of them is a great defender. Whilst Latrell has improved on his defence in the last year, he is still prone to ingcaught out of position by drifting inside, leaving his winger marking two players. Roberts is like lightning running the ball but his tackling technique leaves a bit to be desired. I just worry that if these two get picked, either of them will wind up having his hands full if they have to mark Greg Inglis.

That is why, in my opinion Euan Aitken deserves to be in the side. Whilst he may not be quite as flashy as Roberts or Mitchell, he is a very good ball runner, and he is far better defensively than both of the others.

We need to try an all out attacking team for once. Time to stop worrying about defence as much.

I can't say that I've watched Latrell's or Jimmy's defense particularly closely, but Aitken is far from the benchmark when it comes to defense.

His tackling is fine, but his decision making is ordinary, although improved this year as compared to last year.

Mitchell and Roberts were bad in defence up against one another but when you have two of the most devestating centres going at it, defence isn't really going to be the feature of the night.

No point having centres who between them score 4 tries but concede 5 tries due to bad defence. If you think defence is not a part of Origin I don't know what games you've been watching for 30+ years. For example, 1995 Origin series, Qld won that series more due to outstanding defence than anything else against a NSW side which , on paper, should have blown them off the park.

Aitken is no better though with MUCH worse attack

Tamou and Merrin?

What has Gus been smoking?

I've never rated James Tamou since he moved to Penrith. His form in the second half of the year with the Cowboys slid before going to the Panthers and he carried that into Penrith. He's never come anywhere near his peak in his hey day when he was with the Cowboys.

The sad part is Tamou has seemed to given up as well. I've read comments where he has stated his years of playing State of Origin are behind him and has even floated the idea of playing for New Zealand rather then trying to crack into the NSW and Australian teams.

Tamou is largely unloved even by Panthers fans. He's certainly capable of reaching great heights, but has only done it a handful of times in our colours. He's shown signs of returning to his best over the past month and played well last game but needs to play more minutes and has no prospect of playing Origin this year. Conversely, he now has every opportunity to be an integral part of a very successful season for his club as part of a gun forward pack which might stand him in better stead for next year.

#BREAKING LEAKED NSW SIDE FOR GAME I

1. James Tedesco (Sydney Roosters)
2. Josh Addo-Carr (Melbourne Storm)
3. Latrell Mitchell (Sydney Roosters)
4. James Roberts (Brisbane Broncos)
5. Blake Ferguson (Sydney Roosters)
6. Luke Keary (Sydney Roosters)
7. James Maloney (Penrith Panthers)
8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard (Penrith Panthers)
9. Damien Cook (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
10. David Klemmer (Canterbury Bulldogs)
11. Boyd Cordner (c) (Sydney Roosters)
12. Tyson Frizell (St George Illawarra Dragons)
13. Jake Trbojevic (Manly Sea Eagles)
14. Tyrone Peachy (Penrith Panthers)
15. Paul Vaughn (St George Illawarra Dragons)
16. Wade Graham (Cronulla Sharks)
17. Jack De Belin (St George Illawarra Dragons)

Obviously just a rumour like the QLD leaked team but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the team barring injuries

Keary has big game experience and deserves his shot just as much as Cleary. But what has Wade Graham done to justify his selection??

Lol at that bench and Fumblefool Ferguson.

??????

He has been a monster on the wing for the Roosters and I think there is no other player in the competition that is averaging as many meters and tackle busts as he is. He deserves to be there.

Euan Aitken should be there. Defensive madman and totally outplayed Inglis earlier in the season. Having a blinder of a season as well.

If true we are so f**ked when we play you guys during the Origin rnd.

Such BS how it compromises the NRL competition.

I just realised Napa will play for QLD too

6 origin players out for you guys. Surely a record?
It'd go close.

Though in 2004 we may have had a huge representation from the likes of Freddy Mini Wing Fitzgibbon Ricketson Hodges Crocker Flannery.

No Teddy means Reece Robinson  And who the hell knows for wingers/centres.

Roosters are massively under performing and sitting in 7th have the biggest representation. Makes sense.
