#BREAKING LEAKED NSW SIDE FOR GAME I

1. James Tedesco (Sydney Roosters)
2. Josh Addo-Carr (Melbourne Storm)
3. Latrell Mitchell (Sydney Roosters)
4. James Roberts (Brisbane Broncos)
5. Blake Ferguson (Sydney Roosters)
6. Luke Keary (Sydney Roosters)
7. James Maloney (Penrith Panthers)
8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard (Penrith Panthers)
9. Damien Cook (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
10. David Klemmer (Canterbury Bulldogs)
11. Boyd Cordner (c) (Sydney Roosters)
12. Tyson Frizell (St George Illawarra Dragons)
13. Jake Trbojevic (Manly Sea Eagles)
14. Tyrone Peachy (Penrith Panthers)
15. Paul Vaughn (St George Illawarra Dragons)
16. Wade Graham (Cronulla Sharks)
17. Jack De Belin (St George Illawarra Dragons)

Obviously just a rumour like the QLD leaked team but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the team barring injuries

Keary has big game experience and deserves his shot just as much as Cleary. But what has Wade Graham done to justify his selection??
Keary grew up dreaming of playing for QLD. If he could he would pick them. Not us.

He will only play with us for the match payment and to add it to his resume. I just dont like the idea of building around a player who supported the other team most of his life. Passion is a huge part of Origin.

Not that I think he couldn't play part in winning a series for us. He's not Pearce. Actually it would be hilarious if he did while barely caring when Pearce couldnt despite probably caring more about it than any other achievement in his career.

Cleary for Keary and RCG for Graham you've got the perfect team. As mx said, Keary is a QLDer.

I’ve been saying th whole time Keary shouldn’t get picked on that reason. Idk how Yu can pick a dude who was born and raised in qld only to move to nsw at like 13

But from a performance perspective he is brilliant, been in a grand final and huge semi finals. A lot more experience than the other contenders

Where does this leave Cleary? Fitler is probably going the route of “he isn’t fit enough to play origin this year coming back from injury” which I can sorta understand. Really don’t get the graham selection off the bench though

??????

He has been a monster on the wing for the Roosters and I think there is no other player in the competition that is averaging as many meters and tackle busts as he is. He deserves to be there.

Should be nowhere near a rep jersey. Mistake ridden, defensive liability.

Useless.

mine:
FB - Tom Trb
RW - Cotric
RC - Roberts / Aitken
LC - Mitchell
LW - Ado-Carr
FE(L) - Maloney (c)
HB (R) - Cleary / Reynolds
AH - Cook
RF - Sizzle
LF - Sims
MF - Jake Trb
PF - Klemmer
PF - Campbell-Gillard
IC - Vaughan
IC - DeBelin
IC - Merrin
IC - Peachy

Turbo will get his backs involved.
Cotric plays left wing for canberra, but least important position for side. specialisation you'd think.
Roberts and Mitchell have defensive concerns, but who else do you put in that's half decent and doesn't have the stench of losing series hanging over them? Roberts is a game breaker which is why I opt for him.
Maloney gets his teams playing well.
Cleary first choice, but if he's not 100%, then A Reynolds for Game 1.
Cook is the best AH in the game at the mo.
Sims is the best left foward in the game at the mo.
Time for Klemmer to step up to Origin starter
Vaughan and DeBelin to be on the field together like they are at Illawarra
Merrin's been there and is playing well
Peachy can cover several positions

Will this team beat QLD in series? I still don't think it can. QLD as always will settle in for the defensive stoush. They build their teams on defence first, but then have game breakers to open NSW up. The blues only have one or the other.

The Maroons played Folau in their team when he was Sydney born and bred and NSW boy GI will captain them. f**k the Maroons
They wanted to play for QLD. They didnt want to play for NSW and get told nah its QLD or nothing.

Keary wants to play for QLD. He can't. So he will settle for NSW just to get the money and add Origin to his resume.

Graham injured his hamstring in round 6. He came back too early in round 9 and lasted 25 minutes. Even if he gets through this weekend's game, you could not possibly risk him. Surely someone like Crichton or Yeo would be a much better option.
Yeo? Lol

Did you even read what I wrote?

Yes I did. You are just not hearing me and what I am getting at. You seem to think going for a team set up for all out attack will overcome defensive deficiencies. I disagree with that thinking as there are far too many examples where that thinking has been tried yet failed in Origin history.

If you went with a centre pairing of Mitchell and Roberts, and James Maloney does wind up being picked at five eight, you are going to have two poor defenders lining up alongside each other, and Qld will run their attack there all night. Sure you don't go just for players who are defensive specialists in the backs, but you cannot ignore defensive deficiencies when you consider the team as a whole. NSW probably has a bit more in terms of options in the centres than it does in the halves.

You don’t reckon that’s just media fluff? if your first instinct was to play for qld there’s no way you can have a change of heart and suddenly say you wanna play for nsw. But that’s what he’s doing right now

And let’s be fair if you were in the same boat you’d probably do the same because origin is where it’s at and within the current rules he’s entitled to do that

Dunno why these eligibility rules are made so difficult. If you’re born in qld you play for qld. If you’re born in nsw you play for nsw. Not that hard
