None of them besides Pearce were in the team consistently for 10 years.

I don't disagree with you on both fergo and tupou. Fergo was picked prior to being a rooster and tupou was picked based on height which is pretty flimsy. Tupou does have a 2-2 record though including a series win which must make him a legend in your book?

The only other roosters players i can think that have been in NSW since 2006 are anasta who played the vast majority of his SOO games prior to being a rooster, maloney who has since been chosen whilst representing other clubs, fitzgibbon who always performed at rep level and Anthony minichiello.

So to say that roosters players being unduly selected as the reason for our SOO struggles is a complete myth.
How dare you inject facts into a session of cult like Rooster bashing.

The Pearce hate would legit be worthy of a university level case study. Reason goes completely out the window.

Josh Jackson does a lot of work off the ball, he's a decent hard working player but not what we need in Origin - much like Cordner.
The Dogs are running 14th and have lost their last 6. Klemmer is lucky to have made the side in the face of Fittler's purge and you certainly can't have any more of a pack that is getting carved up every week, regardless of the names they boast. Jacko has had a pretty good run really. Time to step aside.

I am happy that NSW have gone for youth and I hope we give them a chance over time.
Pearce was never going to play so all you silly people with phobias and erectile disfunction can pack up your issues and put them away, just like the Pearce lovers can take down their posters and love someone else.

What I am really happy about with the NSW team is no Dugan, has anyone ever seen him pass the ball ?
and also I am wrapt that Wade Graham is not there, he should never ever play for NSW again after stripping that ball in game 2 last year

Klemmer definitely isn't lucky to make the NSW side, NSW is lucky to have a player of Klemmers quality to choose from. I don't think their should be anyone questioning Klemmers place in the side unless of course they're Queensland supporters. Klemmer is the best forward Australia have, in a side that's been totally crap this whole year, he's been the shinning light.

Jackson didn't have a good run, he was average and shouldn't have been there. What I was pointing out was the he was a decent player but not what we needed.

Will new Blues centres prove NSW’s downfall? Laurie Daley analysis Mitchell, Roberts combo

NSW pair Latrell Mitchell and James Roberts have strike power but will they be exposed defensively?

That’s the key question coming from the Blues camp after our team was announced for State of Origin I in Melbourne tomorrow week.

I like the look of this NSW side. It has speed, size, aggression and will go all out in attack.

There is little doubt the Blues have plenty of points in them.

It will really come down to whether we can stop Queensland defensively and the biggest question marks hover over centres Mitchell and Roberts.

They have shown in recent weeks what they can do with the ball in hand but can they balance that defensively?

No doubt Queensland will target the pair.

A quick check with Fox Sports Stats shows Mitchell has missed 17 tackles this season and Roberts 14. They are vulnerable.

The issue will be whether they make the right decisions in defence when they have numbers thrown at them.

I have full faith in them but Maroons coach Kev Walters will know Mitchell and Roberts have defensive issues.

I applaud the decision to pick South Sydney hooker Damien Cook. He is electric out of dummy, his speed is blinding.

Given how effective he is with the ball, I am sure Queensland will run plenty of traffic at Cook to get his tackle count up.

NSW need to be gritty in defence. That’s what Origin is built on; playing for your mate and scrambling when you are exhausted.

The question mark over Queensland is their forwards.

They don’t have a lot of size in the middle and I wonder whether their go-forward will come from.

They will lose a lot of grunt in omitting veteran Matt Scott.

I can’t help but think Cook’s explosive pace was a factor in Queensland overlooking Scott.

Cook’s footwork would have caught out a tiring Scott.

I like James Tedesco at fullback for NSW.

I think he will pop up throughout the match in support when Cook goes for a dart around the ruck.

Those two could be very dangerous for Queensland.

While I’m not involved anymore, I still love State of Origin.

It is without doubt the biggest and most-anticipated contest in Australian sport.

And I get the feeling the tide is turning.

The guts of the Queensland side that has been so dominant for so long has departed.

There is no Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Johnathan Thurston, Darius Boyd or Scott.

This is a new era for Queensland. Let’s see if they can handle life — and the expectation — without these superstars.

NSW have a fresh team for a fresh era. Everything feels good.

The time is right for NSW.

Prime blowing smoke up your arse propaganda. Wasn't that the script after Game 1 last year? Wasn't that the script at half time Game 2? Wasn't that the script before Game 3 last year?

"QLD are on the ropes"

But But But. Smith. Cronk. Thurston.

Look you believe whatever you want. Be my guest. Answer me this: Amongst those who engineer this whole thing, if the Blues dream doesn't eventuate; Whose head should roll?

You're having a lend,right?
About Klemmer being the best forward in Australia. I enjoy different types of humour and this one is right up there.

The point of the article is about our centres. The rest is fluff and I don't care. The media are idiots and they talk this shit for clicks.

I don't know, I mean him leading the meterage for any NSW forward in a well beaten side is pretty laughable, winning the player of the series for NSW was comical and providing the go forward for Australia to WC glory just makes me LMAO.

This comment is absurd. So any players from clubs out of the 8 should be ignored? Who gives a f**k if his club team is bottom of table. Klemmer is one of the best forwards in the game, was NSW best forward over the 3 games last series, and it would've been ludicrous to leave him out of the squad based on his team's standings. One bloke isn't going to miraculously wipe the deficiencies of the other 16 players in his team.

NSW had a lot of best forwards last series....Jackson....Klemmer....Cordner....Fifita.

BS! Fifita, Cordner & Graham had one big game against over-the-hill opposition. Downhill skiiers. They were missing or had brain farts in games 2 & 3. Klemmer and Jake T are the only two forwards from last series who can really hold their head up high in a losing team.

You miss the point. Depending what you read, Klemmer, Fifita, Cordner, Jackson and Jake (forgot him) were all the best forwards for NSW. The truth is the lot of em were steamrolled when it mattered.

NSW consistently played well when Klemmer and Jake T were on the field. Beacuse the entire unit ended up losing as a collective should not mean the they all get the chop. Certain individuals didn't hold up when it mattered. For the most part, Fittler has identified those players and they haven't been selected. The only bloke who didn't pay the price was Cordner. He had effort over the series, but as captain and playing right edge forward (moved over from left when Graham came on), he should've identified and led the team with Pearce to attack Thurston in Game 2 who was defending on their side of the field.
