Great to see Greg Waddell and Wade Graham play a few SG Ball games before the NYC. Hopefully last year's SG Ball player of the year Lachlan Coote will play a couple also.

Looks like it was a close one yesterday, 14-12 to Penrith (3 trys to 2) I thought Penrith would put a score on Souths with Matthew Wright playing for the Panthers as well.

What did you think of the game?

I don't get to see the start of the Junior Rep's season due to cricket. However, Souths aren't too bad in the SG Ball, have a couple of NSW 17's players from last yr. Good to start the season with a win, even though it wasn' a comprehensive one.

Souths were the better team but Penrith had the better individual players. Wade Graham in particular looked really classy but unfortunately didn't take the line on enough at crucial times. If he had of it may not have come down to 2 points. Considering they were out classed by Graham and Waddell and outsized by the monster kids running around for Penrith I thought Souths did really well. Their smaller props and second rowers played as a very good pack.

The Canberra Raiders Harold Matthews and SG Ball sides will be back in action at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan again this weekend, when they take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

After a narrow loss last weekend the Raiders under 16's will be keen to get back in the winners circle, with the emphasis on defence at training this week. For the SG Ball side they will be looking to follow on from their big win over the Central Coast Storm last weekend, and entrench themselves in the top half of the ladder early on in the season.

Interesting to see that the Roosters have picked up Brad Murray from the Bulldogs.

Also Adrian Haangana in the Roosters Harold Matthews is one to watch. He was outstanding for North Sydney Harold Matthews last year, so i'd like to see what he can do 1 year on against people his own age. A NSW Rugby Union Under-15s player as well.
