Wellington 199, Canterbury take the State Championship by 49 runs
Was a sensational day to listen too, would have been even better if it wasn't for that ****ing farming hour, and ads every 3mins. Missed so much of the action while they were at ad breaks
Wellington started really well, added 120 for the loss of 1 in the 1st season, Neal Parlane being the mainstay of that with good support from Woodcock. Van Wyk dropped Parlane on 32, off the bowling of Davidson, denying him 5, and that looked crucial as at 160/5 they looked very comfortable, then Todd Astle entered the game, removing Parlane for 74, Bowden 0(3) and Patel 0(1) all in the 1 over. Gillespie came out and whacked a quick 14 before Bennett knocked his off stump over, then Woodcock and O'Brien fought for a while, before Woodcock lofted Astle to Bennett on the boundary who took the catch and the chamionship. Astle finshed with 4/26 and Davidson 4/28
Fantastic effort from a young Canterbury side. Was also amusing to hear Waddle hurting so much in his commentary
