O/T Bird to walk free as conviction quashed

But they didn't lie in court Bart, they lied in a police station.
Does this make a difference?
Any which way, I think he did it, but that's just my opinion.

A court of law said he didn't....the conviction was quashed.. That was the Judge's opinion. He is the bloke who heard all the evidence presented, and made his decision on that, so, in the end, it doesn't matter what you, me or anyone else thinks...and I can't believe David Gallop is threatening action against Clubs that sign him. Sounds like victimisation to me.
I'm definitely no fan of Bird, but the bloke has been through hell since the incident. He always said he would be cleared - and he was in Court...end of section.

Everything you said pete is correct.
I still think he did it.
That's just my opinion.

Probably does Suity... I don't know the level that perverting the course of justice kicks in (eg whether it has to be under oath), or whether there is some lesser charge like obstructing police that they should now be up for?

It would be a very brave club that now signs someone so dumb to have put himself, his girlfriend and family, his club, and the code as a whole through the negative headlines that all could have been avoided simply by him telling this version of the truth straight up at the time...
I thought perverting the course of justice was during the investigation stage and perjury was lying in court.

Suity...it's probably mine too. BUT he has to be given the benefit of the doubt. He is a free man...

Agreed. We are saying the same thing.

The thing I hate the most though is he wanted to blame the whole thing on a mate.
Seriously, what decent person would EVER try and throw the blame on a mate.
He is a complete dick imo, but a dick with no balls.
I can't believe that, what I believe is lies, has secured them innocence.

No judge would waste their time. (unless of course the prosecution appeal the appeal, which they could do, will they bother????)

Yeah, probably right. I imagine the police/court are sick of the matter, and unless Milligan did decide to play ball with the police, its really a waste of time pursuing it further.

I have to be careful how I word this, don't want to get in trouble and be deleted again.

I think he did it! Anyone can see through the lies. I guess the judges hands were tied.

The judge heard all the evidence and thought there was no proof Bird glassed Milligan ... especially considering the one key witness said Bird did nothing wrong (in relation to the glass)

If Bird glassed Milligan and she doesn't take a stand then in fact you are right, the judge's hands are tied.

If Bird glassed Milligan they both deserve each other and I couldn't care less.
If Bird didn't glass Milligan they are still both wankers.

I love it how they are talking about the web of lies as though the lies were spun to the cops.

Blind Freddie could see that all the bullsh*tting has been done in the court room.

The girl is pathetic and there's not even a word for him.

in my opinion
the only problem was he didn't know "this version of the truth" until after he was convicted to 8 months jail. ;-)

She is also so stupid it probably took her this long to learn "this version of the truth" especially since there was a "no contact restraining order" most of the time.
