Some of you missed it by a few years but Danny was a revelation when he burst onto the test scene during '87/88 tour of Australia.

Hadlee wanted a genuine fast-bowling partner for years and there he was; young, nice action, brash like an Aussie, just perfect.

revelation is a bit strong? His career was a bit disappointing tbh, struggled to maintain consistency, and couldn't lead the attack... about 150 wickets at about 35?? Ultimately he couldn't build pressure, could be very good though

He had more catches dropped off his bowling than any other player. He was badly let down by an average bunch of slips. I remember the 93/94 tour to Australia, Greatbatch & Rutherford dropped 7 catches across the 3 tests. 6 off Morrison & one off Murphy Su'a.

'Revelation' is over the top in the context of his career, which was disappointing, yes.

But in his first series he was. It was the pace, aggression and attitude. Even Allan Border mentioned it.

This tour has been the biggest surprise in a few decades so far, has come out of nowhere

Unbelievable to be in this position when our number 1 spinner has bowled a bag of shit so far. Our batsmen look far more assured than theirs somehow, a 150 2nd innings here has us favourites but would love to bat well past that
