I can't see Tarrant going to the eagles, it just wouldn't be fair to the rest of the comp

Others doing the rounds...

Brett Thornton to Hawthorn;
Mark Coughlan to Fremantle;
Graham Polak to Richmond.

Hawthorn is also rumoured to be interested in Paul Medhurst from the Dockers; and (again) Ryan Ferguson of Melbourne.

Take it as a given that Richmond is also interested in Thornton.

As is per usual, Stephen Salopek of Port is likely to generate interest, most prominently from Melbourne and Geelong.

Why?

West Coast would be stronger with KPP ... Not soft as butter flankers.

Chris Tarrant is a potential superstar key forward, if he joined the eagles imagine a forward line of Lynch, Tarrant, Hansen, (an in form) Ashley Sampi and co being serviced by a midfield of COusins, Kerr and Judd with Dean Cox supplying the midfielders with ball from hit outs, scary prospect.
In saying that I think the eagles could score Tarrant with a trade involving Mick Gardiner, and maybe a draft pick

Well this certainly shows the power of the Pie Media Machine.

The only good season he has had where he made AA was when playing as a flanker style player.

He was lucky to have been offered one.

IMO i can see J. Johnson going for an established midfielder.

D. Solomon - maybe a draft pick, 2nd rnd?

We need solid midfielders to service a solid forward line (Lloyd, Hird and co. all fit in round 1)

D. Solomon at the best is worth a 3rd round, probally 4th round though. J.Johnson> Akermanis possibly.

I am glad to see him gone but just don't expect any more than a 4th rounder for him. He is a solid backup player thats about it!

tarrant will either head to WA for either WC or FRE 1st round pick (16 or 13) and a youngish midfielder or he will stay with the pies

Beginning of the end or end of the beginning?

I have really hated not making finals the last few years BUT I have also loved seeing a young team starting to take off. Aker will either cost us a quality young guy or the chance in the draft of scoring a quality young guy. Two or three mediocre Aker years Vs 7-10 if we score a good junior just doesn't add up for mine.

If fit, Aker will give good value, Cupid.

That said, I've never been convinced that he was the player that the club should have been targetting.

Outside midfield is hardly a Bulldog weakness, so they really should have gone hard at Bradshaw rather than Aker.

I hear now that they're pushing hard to the hoop for (Mc)Doogie Howser from the Eagles. Given that McDougall has strugled at the Eagles when they've had a brilliant midfield delivering ball, I don't see why he'll not continue to struggle at the Hounds.

Apparently Essendon have offered JJ and Solamen to Port Adelaide for pick 5. Bloody hell that'd be good.

Port supporters would string up their recruitment people if they accepted this deal.
