Offer to rein withdrawn

Couldnt help but laugh at the report benji will be stood down this week to blood for the future, but will be shown respect for the final game.
How does this journo come up with this dribble?
And correct me if im wrong, but only 3 weeks ago it was mentioned rein wanted 600k-650k
And we only tabled 450k?
Now he wants 450k and our offer was 350k?
Even at 350k he will be over priced in my opinion.
Its time to blood new players in the final 2 games in place of those leaving at seasons end.
A new half and a new hooker at the very least. If Hutch really isnt viewed with confidence going forward, make that call now and try Mann at 6 and Widdop at 7 and bring up a youngster on the wing.
The only issue is do we have any 9s we can try besides rein and marketo?
Cause in my opinion if they wont be here next year then there is absolutely no point playing them.
7 and 9 are big calls that need to be made this week.
And if Milne is suspended then mary better not promote lafai or KFFL.... its the perfect chance to blood another youngster.
Lets see how it pans out this week.

They have already shown respect for marshall by letting play this many games, its past the time to clean out and drop all the players that are not here next year. Also lets prey that we do not see Lafai or Ffl in first grade again.

Lots of media coverage about the Rein and Marshall stories....2nd last game of the regular season, no chance of top8 finish, yeah, let's shake things up and try some new ideas.....what a joke.
Writing has been on the wall for ages...Mary was too pig headed to make changes or perhaps take up any advice on blooding players. I actually think it's a miracle Kurt Mann got another go... in FG. We would have offloaded him at seasons end, like idiots.
His faith in juniors was underlined last year with the JDB fiasco at half, instead of playing Hutch....

All these journo's are mad in the head.
How does he come up with the idea to drop Marshall for the Eels game and show him respect by bringing him back for the Knights game.
Honestly the Dragons are bad, the NRL is worse, the bunker even worse, the judiciary even worse again and the journalism absolute shit.
If Rein, Cooper, Marshall and Marketo are not at the club next year drop the lot of them.
Mc Crone (yes I know) to hooker, Hutch to 5/8 or half, Host and Simms into the pigs pretty simple really.

Great idea but probably want happen. Just one more thing jd to coach as a caretaker please then I would be interested.

For Rein it's probably a good thing. If he joins the Knights he will have a former hooker as his coach.
He'll probably play SOO under Brownies tutelage.
For all the negatives about his passing and general game management, he did put in, it's just a shame his skills didn't match his endeavour.................or his man bun.

Dragonslayer I think you hit it on the head or should I say hair. The bigger his man bun became the shitter he played

Rein rolled the dice the last time and won, but this time it appears he has lost. He's a tough player but not enough skills and smarts to excel in such an important position.

Another example of supporters calling for this change a good 2 years+ before management finally catch on....
Really makes you wonder if they actually watch any matches...

Drew Hutchinson will only play this week against Parramatta because the following week the Cutters play the first week of Semi Finals. So yes Benji will play against the Knights no doubt.

Tbh we'll probably have the same team playing in r26 as we did last round, mainly due to giving some a proper send off. But I do hope Creagh laces up the boots, even for 5 minutes.

Under no circumstances should the Dragons offer Marshall or Rein a contract for 2017.

Segeyaro, Havili and McInnes are all better than Rein. Marketo is a makeshift hooker, no one at the Dragons believe he is a viable option for the future.

1. Segeyaro
2. Havili
3. McInnes
4. McCrone

How things can turn in one season - last year's Dally M runner up to his game on Sunday and that performance against the Bronco's. I hope he's remembered for the glory days and not this season.

Again, this is a big part of what a real coach is supposed to be handling. Bennett would have tapped Marshall on the shoulder halfway through this season the same way he did with Langer & Lewis.

Someone needs to sit young Mitchell Rein down and explain the concept of "buyer demand".

He obviously watched his friend Trent Merrin knock back a deal from the Dragons and get snapped up by another club with a better offer and just thought that was the norm.

McGregor is a bit deluded about that stuff. Remember when he came out of retirement as a 34 year old for one final crappy season in 2001?

Maybe he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. I feel a little sorry for him. He puts in 110% every game and is a tenacious competitor but it seems so vital for a hooker to have playmaking ability these days and sadly for Rein, he doesn't have that ability.

Segeyaro is the one we want, he can single handedly spark the attack of any side. Admittedly yes, he's not the 'General' type player people are wanting in the number 9, but I think people have to come back to reality with those wishes. The only players who are capable of that in this competition are Smith (who will be with Melbourne until he retires), Ennis (retiring), Hodgson (will never leave Canberra) and Wallace (will retire with Panthers).

We need to look at agile and skilful 9s that give good service and can play 80 minutes. Seggy is the only hooker that fits those requirements.
