Apart from club form there's nothing to suggest Grant will make a lot of ground like you suggest, starting him is a massive error imo.

The problem for Grant is Gallen.

Captain Gimme the Ball twice in every set needs to allow the props the opportunity to make the ground if he isn't the prop in the opening 10 mins.

The option is Gallen could indeed start the first 15min at prop with Lewis in the starting squad and Grant comes on after this opening period shifting Gallen to the lighter forwards role, but that would mean taking off one of Lewis,Bird or G Stewart which would be a waste of an interchange so early in the match.

Still, if Gallen isn't playing at prop, he has to stay the f**k out the way of the two on the field who are.

So the game plan for our best forward in the past 7 years is to stay the f**k out of the way? All it should mean imo is that Bird & Stewart wont need to take anywhere near as many relief hitups as usual.

There's no excuses for Grant, if he doens't take the runs it's on his shoulders not Gallen's.

Gallen can get in the way sometimes, if he calls the ball most of the time he is gonna get it...

What would you use other than club form to determine how much metres he's likely to make?

lol, are you denying it's a play that's hard to defend against?

I'm denying it's a play that will ever happen while Ricky Stuart is at the helm, hence keep imagining. It's also unnecessarily complicated, whilst the complication would be bearable to see the superior attacking fullback in the position, swapping them around serves no real purpose but to pacify the clueless bandwagoners as Hayne is as good as Stewart defensively.

Going off SOO 1, the extent of Ricky's attacking playbook is to bomb Tate, one of the game's most reliable wingers. f**k I hope there's some more variety in our raids in game 2, or it's another series down the drain

Gallen was carrying an injury in game 1 and was the best forward on the park again by far, he is sweet. Choc will be fine not playing for 80 minutes. Grant if not fit enough will be replaced by Woods / Galloway, not a massive issue.
