OFFICIAL NSW side

The only player in the team that definitely shouldn't be there is Ben Creagh. How did he get a spot ahead of Anthony Watmough who is a proven performer for NSW? Or Tariq Sims who is a beast and likely to have a huge future for us.

Other then that, the only real questionable selection is Jamie Buhrer. Solid player and could be decent for us, but there's just no way he should have been ahead of Ryan Hinchcliffe... and in all honesty with Luke Lewis, Greg Bird and Jarryd Hayne in the side. There's no need for a utility anyway.

I'm not sure why anyone is questioning the selection of Hayne or Jennings. Both are proven Origin performers, and neither has played that poorly this season anyway. Jennings has had one bad game and that was with an injured shoulder. Other then that he was the Panthers best and only attacking weapon with incompetent halves feeding him the ball. Hayne has been playing in the worst team in the NRL and has still been pumping out some amazing stats. They might not be in career best form, but both are playing well enough ontop of previous performances to keep their spots.

Buhrer will do a hell of a lot of defense though. He gets through a massive workload in his limited minutes, but not much else.

Um, hayne has been one of NSW's best for several years now and jennings was great last year. How can T-Rex be óut of form' when he hasn't played in 7 weeks? You obviously mean match-fit, but they've obviously kept an eye on Williams and he would have been keeping fit.

* Hayne is there on reputation, not form. He's been shithouse for Parra this yr. No doubt he's been good in previous years, but his form this year doesn't justify his selection IMO.
* Jennings has been dropped down to NSW Cup, yet gets picked for Origin? Classy player but ballsy decision.
* And yes, T-Rex is not match-fit. Taking 7wks off then jumping into Origin 1 is a huge decision/risk.

Hopefully NSW prove me wrong!

And yeah, I also like no Ennis. Ricky must have realised that ability helps you matches more than niggle. PLEASE stick with Farah even if he has a quiet game 1 ffs. We've seen what Ennis can do and it hasn't helped NSW before so give Farah a chance at a series.

Creagh hasn't done enough to be there but Merrin has been one of the best props in the game this season. What a brainless throw-away line

He has been pretty good for Your mob awesome off the bench but i just look back to his games for NSW and think he wont be up for it when there is Mannah who played great for NSW...
It like Creagh awesome for the Dragons shithouse for NSW

I think that after the amount of series NSW has lost, you are never going to keep everyone happy.

In saying that there are a few puzzling selections;
Creagh - People have obviously stated.
Jennings - That's just a bit silly, I realise Ricky is trying to do the whole loyalty thing here but he's been dropped from his club side....
Farah - He's been tried and tested at this level before, he doesn't have it.

But most surprisingly, the omission of Tariq.....my goodness how could you not pick this guy...
As a QLDer I appreciate this but especially as a NTH QLDer!

The reason I am optimistic more than some people is the spine. When is the last time our spine was this good?

1. Brett Stewart
6. Todd Carney
7. Mitchell Pearce
9. Robbie Farah

Just look at the spine and smile. We have had to endure spines with the likes of:

Ennis
Minichiello (Old)
Barrett
Kimmorley
Anasta
Finch
Gidley

This team has me excited. It has been a long time since we have had a great 1/6/7/9.

Mannah great for NSW? Puhlease

He had one alright game off the bench I remember and it was in Game 3. He played in all 3 games in the next Origin series, but was average in all of them.
