wow - guess the one factor in your favour is India seem to be horrible in tests at the moment, but I expect they'll rise for Australia...

Not sure a quartet of spinners of Lyon, Doherty, Maxwell and Smith would worry many club teams... first class bowling average of 45... seriously...

Not sure of the wisdom of picking Pattinson... harsh place for a quick, especially one just coming back from injury and so valuable...

My side from that squad.

1. Warner 2. Cowan 3. Hughes 4. Khawaja 5. Clarke 6. Wade 7. Henriques 8. Smith 9. Siddle 10. Pattinson 11. Lyon*

Only one change from the team a picked yesterday during a discussion and that was Okeefe in for Smith.

Sunshine can't hit it off the square and can't bowl. Henriques is leading Shield runs for NSW this season and bowling at 18 I'm pretty sure. We can only afford three specialist bowlers in India when we bat Wade at 6.

Honestly im f*cking outraged at this rubbish.

How nuffies like Doherty and maxwell can be picked in front of okeefe is just beyond me.

Sure I expected it to happen , still bloody angry though.

I'm really intrigued by what Steve O'Keefe must've done to ensure he never gets a start.

One things for sure, its probably got nothing to do with Cricket.

There has to be a number of blokes in the staff and/or playing group that simply don't want him around the team, for whatever reason.

Or Invers is just a tremendous genius, which is just as likely.

Even with India in decline the squad chosen is a joke. Steve Smith Doherty and Maxwell FFS? I can't see them taking one wicket between them against India. Henriques is not up to test standard either.

Maybe Mike Hussey knew what was around the corner when he retired.

My tip - India 2/0.

You need to be able to bat for long long periods in India.

This squad can't do that.

I think their will be a couple of heavy innings defeats to Australia. We might be lucky to escape with a draw or two if India bat too long at times.

I wouldn't get too worried gents. Given how toothless India is lately I think this series is going to be more even than everyone expects.

I don't know who to cheer for, don't like either. Lesser of two evils might even be Australia.

I agree that India's current Test shiteness is going to make the series lot closer than it really should be, but the problem with that is that idiots like Inverarity and his fellow NSP tosspots will see any 'competitive' performance against a piss poor India as grounds for vindicating their selections.

Thus, we would likley see the bulk of these muppets (maybe sans Doherty) on the plane to England. Maxwell, Smith and Henriques in an Ashes series would just about be the end of the line for me.

Xavier Doherty has 2 wickets @ 80 this Sheild season.

Brillllllllllliant

That is so harsh and small minded.

Doherty has ONLY played 4 shield matches this year. And in those matches he's only been required to bowl about 55 overs. It's unfair to judge him on one season, judge him on his career accomplishments.

119 first class wickets at an average of 44.78 with a SR of 83.2 and an econ rate of 3.22

Where's your Steve O'Keefe now?!?!?

Invers says boooyaaaaa

Given how f**ked this squad is, I'm surprised Darsh isn't in Khawaja's place.

Maybe Invers has just enough brain cells to not be too obvious.

Henriques bowling is up to standard. It's his batting that's questionable.

If you look at him as a bowling all rounder he works.

Well I certainly do not have the same disgust as many here, I do like the investment in youth, a chance for these young players.

I do agree SOK was a better call than XD.

I do not get the Maxwell love.

I do rate Smith always have.

Glad Usi is there.

Clarke is now the most senior player and I am sure very respected by the players chosen.

I give us every chance to beat India, and think one of the young fellas will come through with an enhanced reputation.

My real concern is where Wade and Watson will bat, for me in tests Wade bats 7, good 7 to have, Watson 5 or 6, 5 if the want the extra bowler.

But things I want do not happen. As Australias best batsmen Clarke should be three, with two lefty openers this suits, but will not happen.

FTR from that squad

Warner
Hughes
Clarke
Khajawa
Smith
Watson
Wade
Starc
Patterson
Siddle
Lyon

Just IMO

I reckon from that squad they'll go:

1-Warner
2-Watson
3-Hughes
4-Smith
5-Clarke
6-Wade
7-Henriques
8-Siddle
9-Pattinson
10-Doherty
11-Lyon
