Hope I'm wrong and he cleans up.
Me too. Cleaning toilets for a living would be a good career choice for him.
Hope I'm wrong and he cleans up.
Red&BlackBear said:I am tipping that Hughes, Khawaja and Clarke will make runs.
Watson and Cowan won't, Warner will be up and down until the Ashes where he'll dominate,
One of our pacemen to break down,
Maxwell to return one of the worst bowling figures,
Smith to be made to look like a clueless goose batting,
Doherty to lose any possibility we had at winning a test,
Wade to drop a few.
Those stats honestly aren't that bad for an off spinner. Especially one who plays his majority of cricket in australia.
I would prefer Okeefe get a go at test level but considering that's unlikely Lyon is easily the best option for our spinner.
Mate, I would be the best option for our spinner if Doherty was the only other option. That still wouldn't make me a good bowler!!
It's the way he bowls. Despite having comfortably the best record in the shield he doesnt look particularly threatening and hence he doesnt get a shot.I'm really intrigued by what Steve O'Keefe must've done to ensure he never gets a start.
People on the CA facebook page were actually blowing up over Shaun Marsh's non-selection - yeah the guy who scored 17 runs in a four test series and has scored 61 runs at 10.something in the shield this year. IdiotsGiven how f**ked this squad is, I'm surprised Darsh isn't in Khawaja's place.
Maybe Invers has just enough brain cells to not be too obvious.
We need a spinner in the team. Lyon is currently the best option , it's really that simple.
Hard to judge given the lack of even decent spinners in FC cricket. Aus A v SA he scored runs. PM's XI v WI he top scored. So internation sides has done something.
In FC actually has recent hundreds unlike Smith. Smith should be in the squad instead of Maxwell but Doolan is the better bat.
Doolan is very average against spin bowling. He is perfect for the Ashes where the quicks are the main opponent, but facing 2-3 spinners...Doolan will struggle big time.
They are now taking the veteran of one First Class match, 19 year old Ashton Agar to India as an extra spinner to play in warm up matches and to bowl in the nets as extra spin practice for the batsman.
What. The. f**k.
I'm now starting to wonder not if O'Keefe killed a Chinaman, but just how many he slaughtered in what must have been a genocidal rampage.
www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/576099.htmlYou're kidding right?? What's with the Agar hate??
In his latest shield game Agar got 3 wickets.
O'Keefe has nothing, what did he get in his last shield game?
See, no reason at all to be there.
LINKVice-captain Watson will make his international return from injury in the third ODI on Wednesday in Canberra after being recalled to the Australian squad for the next fixtures in place of Usman Khawaja.
The injury-prone Watson has played a Sydney club game and an interstate one-dayer as he continues his comeback from an ongoing calf muscle problem.
Cricket Australia also announced on Monday that Australia's players will depart for their India tour in three separate groups ahead of the first of two tour matches starting on February 12 in Chennai.

Khawaja is the only current member of the ODI team down to leave with the initial group on February 7, with a host of big names to wait until February 11 to fly out.
Khawaja, Jackson Bird, Ed Cowan, Moises Henriques, Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson, Peter Siddle and Steve Smith will fly to India on February 7 and get the maximum chance to prepare in Indian conditions.
After playing the fourth ODI in Sydney on Friday, ODI stars Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Wade and David Warner will then depart on February 9.
By that time, Warner is expected to have recovered from his thumb injury.
Then finally, Michael Clarke, Watson, Xavier Doherty, Mitchell Starc, Phillip Hughes and Mitchell Johnson will fly on the 11th, the day after the fifth and final ODI is completed on Sunday.
National selector John Inverarity said Watson would replace Khawaja in the 13-man ODI squad at Manuka Oval on Wednesday and at the SCG on Friday.
Inverarity said selectors had tried to find the right balance for players in choosing when members of the 17-man Indian Test squad would fly out.
"Shane Watson comes back into the squad against West Indies as an opening batsman. Shane has recovered from his injury and we look forward to seeing him get back to his best," Inverarity said.
"The First Test in Chennai is scheduled for 22-26 February. The principal warm-up fixture, a three-day game, will take place 16-18 February and another fixture will be held on 12-13 February, both in Chennai.
"(The departure plans) are subject to minor alterations."
Inverarity announced 19-year-old left-arm spin bowler Ashton Agar would accompany the players departing on February 9.
The West Australian has shown promise in the Sheffield Shield this season and will play for the Australians in the first warm-up fixture.
"He will provide ideal practice for the batsmen in the lead-up to the first Test in Chennai," Inverarity said.
"Last year we took Mitchell Starc to the West Indies to further his development and this is a similar opportunity for Ashton."
Australian ODI squad for next two matches: Michael Clarke (capt), George Bailey, Ben Cutting, Xavier Doherty, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Phillip Hughes, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, Shane Watson.
