A number of changes for Wenty in the NSW Cup.

Vai Toutai, Api Pewhairangi and Brendon McKinnon come into the starting side while Evander Cummins holds his spot at fullback after his promotion on the weekend.

Henry Rawalui and Ethan Tangira move out of the team while Liam Foran pushes to the bench.

Tui Kamikamica and Tangira are not listed in either grade so I'll leave it up to Stagger to find out if they are injured.

McKinnon is a decent player and has more upside compared to Foran but both look to be place holders for the wealth of hooking talent across the 18s/20s.

I actually think McKinnon is a better hooker than foran, the kid has been braining em in Ron Massey cup...

Well he's ahead of two blokes with NRL experience (Foran and Smith). Has he played NYC?

Interestingly, Arthur won two out of six NRL games in 2012 with Nathan Smith at hooker.

Edit: It looks like he played 14 NYC games for Souths in 2010, however Peats was the hooker in that side. They also had Mansour, Starling, Reynolds, Vaivai and James Roberts.

There will be at least one change in the lineup for Wenty today with Junior Paulo's elevation to the NRL leaving them short a prop.

There are a few options that could play out. Tui Kamikamica remains unlisted this week and could be a late inclusion. Although not a recognised prop he is at home in the middle and could form a patchwork solution. Joseph Ualesi could also fulfill a similar role with his size and experience lending to the potential to fill in at prop for a game.

Neither are great solutions but casting an eye over the Ron Massey Cup team, only Walter Vaeau looks to be suitable to make the step up at prop. Nathan Armit has played in the NSW Cup before but he is something of a plodder.

Stagger might already know the answer though if he is floating around.

How does Bureta go? Is he a gun? Has he fired in shot yet?

He's ok...

Give him room to move and he can be as destructive as anyone in the game but not the guy to look at to get us out of a hole he'd be very easy to coach against as his slow to turn around and his defensive reads are little off.

Wet track at Ringrose today. The heavier rain has moved on to Parramatta but the conditions will be greasy.

Saia Tanginoa crosses in the left corner to give Wenty the lead late in the Ron Massey Cup. Both teams had traded possession numerous times in the prior ten minutes but the bulk of play was in Aisquith's half.

The conversion is well and truly shanked.

Wenty lead Asquith 22-20

6min to go.

A great run from James Tuitahi kickstarts Wenty's set as they grind it up the middle.

Gorman tries to run it in goals on the last but it picks up a deflection from an Asquith defender. A Wenty chaser boots it ahead and gives eager chase but the ball just rolls dead for a 20m restart.

Asquith turn the ball over two tackles later to give Wenty a shot at shutting the game out.

Henry Rawalui thinks he sees space behind Asquith's left edge and tries to roll a grubber in behind. It is too shallow but Tuitahi dives at the ball none the less. Play breaks down and somehow Wenty come away with the penalty.

They surprisingly opt to take a kick for touch rather than take a shot at two points.

Fresh set of six 10m out from Asquith's line.

Another deflection from a Wenty kick, this time from the boot of Brendan Waters. A better result of this occasion as the Wenty prop, Justin Lemalu takes the deflection on the fly to score near the posts as the full time hooter sounds.

The conversion is missed.

Changes for Wenty

Daniel Alvaro comes into the starting pack for Junior Paulo.

Tui Kamikamica and Isaac Mailota replace Pat Mataele and Liam Foran on the bench. (I believe, however it could be Ben Jones rather than Foran that was replaced).

Pardon me, some technical difficulties there.

Score remains nil all as Wyong go on the attack.

Wenty repel Wyong's first proper attacking raid as they force an error near the goal line.

They then pick up a penalty to piggy back them 10m into Wyong's half.

Slick passing from Wenty as they shift the ball to the right-edge but Wyong mark up well and trap Cummins out wide.

They give away a silly penalty for a second effort in the tackle though to give Wenty a great chance at first points.

Wenty grasp the opportunity firmly as a clever chip kick (by whom I missed as people walked in front of me) finds Vai Toutai on the full and he falls down to claim the opening try of the game.
