In short, Origin gets people in Melbourne upset to the point where they will make a fuss over the smallest thing that might upset their delicate sensibilities. Fact is, it is jealousy and fear of rugby league as AFL has nothing to rival Origin. Roy hit the nail on the head and even that turtle neck wearing poonce and the bird who David Campese doesn't think has a place writing for Fairfax went so far as to call it desperation and small mindedness.
