Timana is a hack right now but he was one of the most talented outside backs in the game back in the early '00s

Before he went to union he was one of the best wingers in the comp. Especially when in combination with Gidley. I think people have selective memories when they are sticking the boot in. He might be shit now but he was not shit around 2001. He also had some ongoing calf injury problems that prevented him doing a lot more in the game at the time.

I remember that, didn't he have a condition where his calf muscle was out growing his skin or something like that?

Early 00's he deserved his nsw and aus spots, was a much better winger then centre though. Could and still can hti as good as matai as a centre without being an absolute grub or going down cluthing at something.

Jennings, cooper retired from rep footy didnt't he?, lawrence, josh morris, geez you guys are looking a bit thin. Unless Uate or Gordon can play centre.

Hodges/Inglis/Tonga/Tate/Neilson looks a bit better :)

Lawrence and Jennings can match anything QLD have. After that I'm a bit worried, but I suppose we always have Hayne or Gordon in a pinch.

Timana was always overrated.

Played well for the Knights, especially in 2002 but was always good for a mistake or three at Origin either in attack or defence. Just never got called out for it.

With that said, I hope he has a good season for the Knights. An in-form Tahu is a joy to watch.

I'm happy to have him back in Newcastle. Bennett will get his head right and I feel he could deliver some value for us this season.

But in saying that his time in the Origin arena has well and truly come to an end. He burnt too many bridges on the way he left Origin camp and I can only imagine there would still be grudges held against him from some of his teammates. It would create disharmony and the subsequent media storm that would inevitably follow Tahu's selection would prove a distraction. The Blues don't need any distractions.

Besides the fact that Lawrence and Jennings are the two premier centres we need if we're going to topple the Maroons juggernaut.
