Abdo isnt there to fix society's problems that isnt part of his job description. Protecting the NRLs public image certainly is though, its not rocket science. Rudolfs comments were harmless but at the same time it would not be good for the NRL if footy players started joking about trying to "pull something" in every interview. The bloke got a warning its not a big deal.

As usual it is the virtual signalling minority finding something to be outraged about.

Is it honestly that hard to get your head around? It's not about anyone being offended. I'm not offended apart from a comedy perspective, because that was about as funny as a kick in the pills.

As a father of girls, I'm quite happy if there's a line drawn that negates footballers talking about how they want to f**k women in TV interviews. If you want to go and f**k women, go for it. If it's consensual. But you don't need to get on TV and say it - that doesn't help the image of a game that has historically f**ked things up royally when it comes to the treatment of women.

If you don't get that, honestly as I said before, please type 'vasectomies in my area' into Google, write the address down, type that into Maps, take down your pants at the front door and do us all a favour.

It was so clearly a joke’: Fletch issues warning after NRL ‘overreaction’ to Sharks star

“We want fan interaction, we want engagement in the game, we want people to love our sport. But we don’t want someone to be themselves,” Cherry-Evans told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“That’s who he is, whether you like it or not, and he was encouraged to be himself with the questions that were asked ... so what is a player meant to do?

“Good on him for speaking his mind and being himself. It’s a shame that there’s been repercussions for something that I think for a lot of people would be only looked at as just very light-hearted humour.”

Former Sharks captain Paul Gallen echoed Cherry-Evans’ sentiments in defending Rudolf and slamming the game for gagging players.

Do you not agree with moving out of a previous era where there was a lot of minority (in case of women not so minority) groups being sht on, the butt of jokes, physically assaulted and being made to feel abnormal, inhuman or somehow lessor?
Orgs like the nrl are at the pointy end and very publicly scrutinised 100% of the time. It makes them super cautious and conservative in the image they feel they need to portray. You might not like it, I often wonder why people who get so upset about it and throw out phrases like “woke” “pc” “cancel culture” “leftist” etc feel so threatened by society trying to improve itself?
