While Orford is halfback for Manly (or any other team), they will never win a premiership. He's got nothing...

Discuss.

He definately has a huge deficiency in his game when it comes to the big occasions. I think its fair to say Orford's kicking game lost it for them last night.

They were more dominant in the middle and dominated possession and field position. Phil Gould made an interesting point last night. He thinks orford might be thinking to much and confusing himself.

I think manly can win it with him as halfback, he just needs to play more decisive footy.

How many times did he kick it into the ingoal on the full, or straight into the guts of another player (which somehow worked out well for him by sheer luck). Did he trip over the ball once? Nuffy

If he had a F/E with him last nights game would have been totally different.

Two kicking options are better than one. Storm knew he was the only kicker, and he was pressured.

Orford....what can you say?

He is a very inconsistent player. One week he gets man of the match..then the next he is back in the doghouse. For the last few years..when it comes down to it..he can't step up to season defining moments. I can't believe he was leading the Dally M, after round 15

Anthony Watmough is the worst defensive second rower in the comp. His attempted tackle on cooper cronk was pathetic.

Contrary to popular belief on LU, Jamie Lyon was playing some awesome footy before he got injured - he was actually looking like a 5/8th for once. Its no surprise that when Lyon is out or when he was playing sh!t (start of the year) Manly dont have any attack and the blame is forced on Orford.

That said Orford had a poor game, but give the guy a chance ffs he was playing against arguably the best defense and had to carry Beaver at 5/8.

He's just not a big game player. He gets flustered and makes terrible decisions and nine times out of ten will have a horrible game. The one exception was against the Cowboys last year in the prelim.

And yes, he is a choker.

Is it Orford's problem. I beg to differ.

Has he ever had a decent consistent kicking game. He has been pretty ordinary for a long time.

You got to ask the question what the hell are the coaching staff doing not selecting a player with a sound kicking game in the team.

Last night he duffed one after the other, but what do they do, keep feeding it to a failure, with no second option (he should be the second option at best anyway). Imagine getting that many chances of failure in any other business or sport.

I just found it hilarious, to be honest.

The problem with awfuld is that he talks himself up in the press and have never backed it up...his kicking game is substandard and will never improve.

I used to cringe at his efforts with the Storm...picture this: Storm on attack, 5 metres out, Orford chips or grubbers...out on the full or dribbles over the dead ball...time and time again.](*,)

He was pretty average again last night, but then again, he dominated Thurston in the GF qualifier last season as well

Halfbacks rarely dominate other halfbacks... Especially in the case you're referring to, Manly's forwards dominated the Cowboys second rate forward pack and thus Orford was easily going to be able to take advantage of that.

No prizes for winning a semi-final, he choked again a week later when it really counted. I can't believe he actually gets a gig with a top NRL club after 9 years of continual f**k ups.

Manly are kidding themselves if they think they can win a comp with their halves. The fight for the title is between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane IMO.

Orford was definitely the difference between a win and a loss last night. In big games, he has a habit of going missing.

Man-for-man, Manly were the better team yesterday.
