Australia has always had a holier than thou attitude to drug cheats in other countries, now we had been caught out and the suggestion is to give WADA the bird. F**k me.
If Rugby League ver decides to accept drug use as a standard the way it is in, say, body building, that is the day it will turn it's back on everything and every moral that it was built on - and that will also be the day it ceases to exist.

I dont care if they name both Origin squads and have to strip the last 15 premierships - if it takes that to give our game credibility, it will be worth it.

It pains me to say I Agee completely loudly. The sharks are just not equipped to handle this.

The nrl have their favorites, channel nine have their favourites and the sharks and others bumble along in the background doing their best. Their best ain't good enough when it comes to this sort of pressure.

You are the goose; the Pommies are already pissing their pants about this shit. Of course, there would be international condemnation - only way to prove that would be for David Smith to make such a call and sit back and watch the place burn - if you and others truly believe league could create it own drug policy allowing certain drugs banned by WADA to be used - you are in dreamland. Imagine mum sending little Johnny down the park to play league - "Johnny, did you take your steriods - today."

Give me a break.

If everyone started using drugs cause they were made legal , it negates the advantage, players would source different drugs to get an even greater advantage , it would be a never ending cycle.

I honestly can't believe people think that if they made certain drugs legal the cheating would stop.

So where is the international condemnation of American sports?

And I'll say it again, I support the NRL staying with WADA. I don't want a separate policy.

Is that clear for you champ ?

It triple pains me to agree with Loudwanker; but he is spot on - if the decks need to be cleared I hope David Smith is the man to do it - and take this once great game forward - drug free where talent, training and teamwork is what wins games and premierships not the latest "clear".

Don't just say it maggie , prove it.

I've posted a link. You've posted nothing more than your usual BS.

Loudmerkin, please explain to General Henry from Baghdad how leagues clubs and football clubs are set up - interwined but separate.

The Leagues Club is the pokie palace - some not all own the football club which has as it assets - players, linemarking machine, tackle pads, the odd BBQ and some staff. The Leagues club board of directors might sit on the football clubs board, but it is not necessary - usually, they have at least one Leagues club rep on the football clubs board so he or she can report back to the Leagues club.

In Cronulla's case, Sharks Ltd own the carpark, the club, the pokies, the football ground and the land to the west which will be redeveloped for residential and retail. As Cronulla has the same board of both clubs, after the development was approved the leagues club assured the football club it days of struggling for cash was over and a percentage of the money from the redevelopment would be paid to the football club on an annual bases.

I can assure you football clubs do not own leagues club. Leagues Club will normally make a grant to the football club - it is part of their constitution; example, Panthers provides a grant to the Penrith football club.

Excuse any spelling or syntax errors as it is late.

Maybe the answer is the NRL authorises what supplements can be taken, they supply the players in sealed containers. Players know what they are taking is legit and refuse to take anything that isn't NRL packaged? Clearly clubs shouldn't be left to their own devices!

Sounds like a good idea - have never understood why players are getting Vitamin B & C shots anyway, surely they can talk a pill.

Only pain killers or other necessary medical shots allowed - but by the authorised doctor, not the waterboy.

FMD there are some idiots in this thread on both sides.

On one side there are chicken littles lapping up every tweet that says "BREAKING: 50 NRL players to be stood down" from some brain dead News Ltd hack.

On the other we have the "ASADA are making it up and we'll be back to watching footy next week" brigade.

Not to mention the ridiculous statements from people who clearly have never bothered to read WADA guidelines before commenting on them. It's not f**king rocket science, poke over to their website and read the Code and the Prohibited List before you shoot off at the mouth. While you're at it actually familiarise yourself with what is established, on the record fact and what is journo speculation/twitter Chinese whispers.

ASADA move to the beat of their own drum, this isn't going to be tied into a neat bow by the end of the day like any other number of sport scandals. It's going to be a slow burn. There's no point working yourself into a lather now when players and clubs are going to remain tight-lipped to the bitter end. To be fair though, deadshit journalists who are tweeting every little rumour as fact aren't helping matters.

Once again there is a lot of paper talk going on. It would completely ruin the integrity of the agency to just let the afl players walk.

Absolutely but it's hardly inconceivable that the afl would try to broker a deal with ASADA to have their players escape sanctions, you'd be strugg-a-ling to find any integrity at afl house.
