I think it's wrong to compare the two cases tbh.

The Sharks issues are over a 6 week period in 2011 which was stamped out as soon as their club doctor found out what Dank was doing, a lot of the players probably don't even remember what they took under Dank and Sharks management had no idea. Essendon's issues are over the entire 2012 season and the head coach and perhaps even management knew about the entire program and ticked off on it. (so now they are blaming a fake letter)

One looks like a case bordering on systematic doping, the other looks like a rogue sports scientist.

This is what I am thinking. I still can't understand how Dank in 6 weeks could cause such issues given the time he has spent at other clubs. Surely his Cronulla stint was his shortest?

It may not be a smoke screen. If Dank is as crooked as he appears, he might well have sent them a false letter. The onus ultimately is on Essendon to keep their correspondence though.

If Essendon can't produce the letter then it has to be assumed they are lying. Perhaps investigators can demand Dank produce the letter? If it exists, is it in his interests to produce it? There are so many ifs and buts.

Either way. Essendon are f**ked.

If the Essendon doc has seen the letter but not taken a copy to keep on file in case there was any problems he should be fired for incompetence. How could you not keep something as important as a letter from WADA saying that a substance your club is using is legal

Anyone with an IQ above that of a wilted house plant would want some sort of hard copy evidence .
But we are talking about Victorians here .They have lived in the protective Vlad bubble where most things are kept hush hush & looked after in house.

Yrs of compliant media, Deals with the police etc ,seem to have made officials a bit complacent.

The Melbourne media have been covering up and keeping quiet about Vfl incidents for years.
