so if kennedy gets his contract ripped out, who gets the cap relief? would have been nice cap space freed up if the broncs were still paying some of it hey?
Roosters will be getting the cap space. Which is a good thing for them as it will free up extra funds to keep guys like Napa.

They must have been recreational drugs ..no way they could have been performance enhancing drugs .
He's the softest forward in the comp

I would guess they are.
Simply because the Titan five are allowed to play and this guy is facing 2 years off.
That said, the Titan 5 are saying they're innocent

Then the knights are paying some of Boyds, the Tigers some of Blairs and Gavets.

But but Boyd asked for a release so the Knights aren't paying him anything but Kennedy asked for one and the Broncos are... f**k off.

so you believe that the roosters are paying him the same or more money then he was on at the Broncos? Kennedy isn't going to rescind his right to hundreds of thousands of dollars to play at the roosters.

Boyd is likely getting paid the same at Brisbane so there's no shortfall in his deal that the knights would be required to pay. There was also talk that Boyd had a get out clause which would have rescinded the contract.

The WT are probably paying part of Blairs contract to move him on.

From what I've heard the Knights aren't paying any of Boyd's current contract but they did have to give him a payout to get him to leave which was made up of the remaining third party money Tinkler promised him. He had a Bennett get-out clause in his contract but was seriously considering seeing out the last year of his Knights contract so he could pick up his 600k but the Knights reached a settlement with his manager so he'd go.

Pretty sure it has been well reported that the Knights and Boyd came to a settlement. No one should be under the impression that the Knights payed nothing for Boyd to move on in 2015

Roosters aren't paying Kennedy anywhere near what we paid him. We over paid for sure. Kennedy is not a rep player, even when we signed him he was a fringe first grader with potential that alot of Rooster fans were happy to see the back of. Just because we were stupid enough to over pay the hack doesn't mean the Roosters were or had to.

Nothing was disclosed at all with regards to the Knights and Boyd. I would be very surprised if he was getting anything from them.

Correct the roosters are not paying him the same but the Broncs top it up to the agreed contract amount he had with them

So are you saying that when a player requests a release and is granted one the club that agreed to release him at his request still has to pay him?

They dont have to but it is likely that a payment would be part of the negotiation to terminate the contract. Kennedy may have asked for a release however I doubt it would have been as straight forward as that, much like the Knights and Boyd

Broncs were paying him 400k weren't they? No way he just walked away from 320k
And no way the Broncos would pay 320k of a 400k contract for 2 years. Better off keeping him under those odds. You can have your release and we ain't paying a cent is more likely. Looks to be not an issue anyway as the Broncos won't be paying a cent now no matter who is right.

Kennedy himself has said he is playing for squat at the Roosters and would have played for free Along with saying he asked for and got a release.

Id be highly skeptical of that and Id be interested if you could produce any article with quotes from Kennedy to that effect

Players only have a short shelf life and the guy has to make $$ to live

If Kennedy was the one who wanted out of his contract and approached the Broncos asking for release, the Broncos would have no obligation to pay him a termination fee unless there was one stipulated in his contract.

Had it been the other way around, that is that the Broncos decided to cut him, they would either have had to pay Kennedy out the full amount for the remaining year on his contract unless they negotiated a smaller fee for the payout that Kennedy agreed to.

Don't forget, before Kennedy decided to go to the Broncos, he had set up a snake breeding business which was based here in NSW which was doing decent business.

As such you can be sceptical all you want but on this point I think Kiwi is correct.
