I think players, administrators and club can consider themselves very lucky they are in a country with such a sht house drugs administration organisation and in a code that has done a good job in manipulating a min impact outcome. If they'd been weight lifters, sprinters or swimmers the outcome would have been very different.

If it were weightlifting or cycling they'd be taking more than peptides

Why did the NRL impose sanctions on cronulla before any player outcomes were known?
Why is the NRL happy to move on with the weak sanctions imposed despite alleged gross negligence to player welfare and major negative impact on NRL reputation?

What if the players lawyers advised this could drag on for 2 years at least and you're looking at legal bills of over $300 k (and you have an excellent chance of winning) or take 3 weeks now and move on?

Which would suggest there was evidence that would need contradicting. If asada had no evidence it would only take a prelim hearing for it to be thrown out. 2 years? Most of these things take a few weeks to be proven of thrown out.

Far closer to reality is the evidence was clear but due to asada incompetence in not charging them in November and possible irregularities in interviews etc it was better for everyone to come up with an outcome that stopped it getting messy for asada and didn't impact any further on the players.

I'd say the key to this is Elkin who if I recall correctly was the one to rollover to Asada

Does anyone think that Elkin said to flano hey we are going to inject the players with illegal compounds and flano said cool go for it what have I got to lose ?


I think the more believable scenario is info was picked up on dank and they pressured everyone else to admit they took banned substances, which dank would have told them was all ok I did this at manly for 6 years.

It's not like they hired some merkin who didn't have a record of developing program's for an nrl club before, in all likeliness they trusted him.

Even if you believed both coaches in both codes were 100% duped, I don't understand why a club wouldn't want a clean break.
