Maloney & Reynolds showed today that they're just not up to playing rep footy.

That was a really poor quality game and I thought both really failed to put their stamp on the game, the issue is not that 'they didn't lift to the standard' because as I said it was a really low quality game. But when taken out of their structures at club level both looked lost.

Both are limited players and need to play in structures that play to their individual strengths, unfortunately for them this isn't going to happen at origin level. It took 70 MINUTES for Reynolds to finally give an early ball to one of his centres... that's just inexcusable for a halfback in dry conditions. Even his kicking game was very average I thought...

Todd Carney HAS to be there.

Funny, I have been thinking the same about Carney and Pearce for years.

](*,) Roosters fans are so STUPID. Reynolds showed more in that one game than Pearce has shown in his whole representative career. I wasn't aware kicking two 40/20, getting two LB assists, scoring a try and forcing repeat sets was classified as "limited". I'd love to hear what you class Pearce as seeing as he hasn't come close to producing anything like that at ANY level of representative RL.

Carney, Pearce, Mullen & Campese are all far more complete players.

If you can't see that then I worry for you, nothing like a good bandwagon though...

Two linebreak Assists?

Are we talking about his career tally?

Like I said 70 Minutes it took Reynolds to finally throw Jennings an early ball.

As for Maloney he showed that unless he's playing in a traditional 5/8 running role he just doesn't have the ball skills to create enough opportunities. I can't recall any try scoring plays that came on the back of either players ball playing ability... getting shown up by Josh Mcrone in a poor quality game isn't exactly the greatest vote of confidence in terms of stepping up to SOO.

What a deluded troll. Reynolds got man of the match you moron. Pearce is a proven loser at rep level. Reynolds was best on field in his 2nd ever rep game.

Easts fans are lucky we've got an idiot for a coach who will keep sticking with proven losers because that is the best way to end a losing streak.

Yeah it's only cool when you're an indie footy fan who likes Pearce. Liking Reynolds is too mainstream.

That's a pretty strong squad... would you plan on using Graham using at dummy half like they did today?

Paul Gallen said he was best on field. So did Brad Fittler.

Two people with the IQ of a dead dog right there, was nowhere near to being best on field, not even close. A halfbacks main role is to create close to the line, what did Reynolds do close to the line? The first try came directly off Graham, the 2nd I'll grant you, but 1 try in 80 minutes? You really think that is a MOTM performance? Do I feel Pearce is the answer, no, but Reynolds didn't make an impression today really.

Yeah hes a good choice from the bench IMO, he's a brute, physical in defence and definitely fits within the 'origin attitude', the only downside that I can see is that hes prone to a silly error.

As for Pearce's 'incumbency' selection I can't help but sense Reynolds could turn out to be a deer in headlights under the intense pressure. Carney looked a nervous wreck in his debut last year, I don't want the same thing to happen again to someone in a pivotal position.

I dunno I thought he was pretty average out of dummy half. He has claims to be selected purely for his ability to play in the second row imo.

If we're gong to use Farah in a rotation I'd rather it be someone with some speed out of dummy half like Craig Wing use to offer us. Rein, Peats & Gidley imo are all better options even if they're not necessarily better players than Graham.

A Deer in the headlights would still be a step up from Pearce.
