I thought the report said the cheating happened post 2006:

Which is off because I would have thought Scott Hill was on some serious coin. Anyway;

The 2006 Bronco's finals series will always intrigue me for the attacking ability of Hodges' at fullback. Really gave the Bulldogs: who looked certainties at the 30 minute mark a real surprise. I was already planning on what to opurchase with my winnings. Lost a packet on that game. Thanks for the memories Hodgo.

Anyway; RLWC for mine. Australians are probably too used to winning it to appreciate it.

Mate, please. I couldn't care if NSW lost the next 50 series if it meant the Dragons were this year's premiers.

This. Origin is just a little mid season distraction, nice to win but not the end of the world.

By the way Pete, the 2006 victory should not be blurred at all. You beat a cheating team and deserved to be premiers.

In hindsight yes but it still wasn't as great a victory as the 2006 Origin Series Decider. That's not to say I was disgraced at all, but it certainly did take a bit of energy out of my celebrations.

Lag - Pretty sure the second book started back in 2005, the amount just grew gradually over the years.

Loved the Bulldogs victory, although it did take me 4 years to actually sit down and watch the game in full.

How far south?

Yeah a bunch of 20-22 year olds vs 15 test players and we were the ones cheating.....just highlights WTF was Waldron thinking.

Test football is just below City v Country.

Origin is the pinnacle but a premiership is the season long grind and they don't come often enough.

the pinnacle of our entire sport? better tell the hundreds of thousands of players who arent eligible that they cant play in the pinnacle of their chosen sport!

proud Qld-er and 5 year ago i would say origin, but these days i'd take premiership.
it means you're better than 15 other good teams.
origin is easy now:cool:

My team doesn't play State of Origin, so clearly a Premiership victory would be better.

Pay him no mind. He just likes to disagree with me for his own amusement.

Premiership. Nothing like watching all of my team's games in the season then seeing them lift the trophy at year's end. Much bigger achievement imo.

Hundreds of players don't play on Anzac Day either and millions don't make it to the olympics or soccer world cup. Origin shits all over test football from great heights and the hundreds of players ineligible would jump at the chance to play it, you see the envy on kiwi players like Marshall and SBW before him.

Premiership > Origin and nothing else matters.

I don't know, I expect Queensland to win, I know not to expect anything more than mediocrity from Parra. for the foreseeable future, I would be more upset if Queensland lost a series than if Parra didn't make the finals. That might just be the current form which I can't overlook though...

So every English, french, kiwi and welsh player would value an origin jersey over their national jersey because it's the pinnacle of all of rugby league on earth?
