here's a crazy thought how about using a bit of diplomacy and encouraging people to become members instead of insulting and belittling them for not being members already

but atleast he's belittling them at home in comfort, it's always difficult to be a keyboard hero these days..

i am quite contempt being a keyboard hero in the comfort of my own home. Trust me i would also say it to your face.

and you're more than welcome too in the KT stand at the next home game, or will that be one of the 8 you don't turn up to because you couldn't be f**ked???

ever thought of this, there are probably more non STH's that spend more money getting to the game and at the game buying food and drink while you're at home because you couldn't be f**ked..

yeah, im sure the money they spend getting to the games goes directly to the club. Idiot.
In regards to admission/food/drinks, then if they do turn up to every game and dont consider getting sth membership, then they are plain stupid. I dont think this is the case.

Thats my point genius. If they turn up to all home games and pay admission, they might as well become a season ticket holder. But this is not the case moron. Non sth wont turn up to more than 3 games all year. So what your saying is that if you were a ceo, you would not worry about sth memberships, and rely on gate takings of each game?
Next time i can be f#@ked to turn up to a game, i will let you know tiger so you can say it to my face.

If i saw Ozzie in the street and said hi and asked him a question and he responded "you have to be a paying member to talk to me" i would not follow the team anymore - i dead set mean that. What a ridiculous money grabbing STUPID rule/theory is that??

And I would absolutely back Ossie if he did that to you. To put it plain if you are not a member, you just don't matter. As Ossie is answerable to the board and the board are answerable to the members.

The fact that someone paid $1000 for 'Hayne' level season ticket, and i live in QLD and am not a paying member, does not in ANYWAY give them more right to call themselves a supporter than me.

No but it gives them the right to call themselves a paid member and the right to have their issues heard in the appropriate forums.

RAM - someone brainwashed you hard man. You comment that "people stating they love the eels move address etc and then stop showing support the club by not paying" is the biggest crock i've ever heard.

I dont know what your situation in life is, but personally i support a family on my one wage, pay the bills, pay a mortgage. I go to every eels game vs broncos and titans, and cheer as loudly and proudly as possible. I live within my means. I deck my kid out in parra gear, and when we are playing the whole street hears me when we score a try. If that doesnt make me a supporter - then i'd like to know when the hell sport and loving your team became more about money than fun

Now see this is where it get to me, your telling us, that you go to two games a year, you get foxtel, and you deck your kids out in Parramatta gear but your "means" doesn't extend $80 a year? Thats a $1.50 a week, and even if you are living in Queensland the membership packs are quite useful, unless they have outlawed, hats, lanyards, key rings, coasters, cool packs, bumper stickers and tattoos for other clubs except the Broncos, Cowboys and the Titans.

Have Queensland also outlawed communications from other clubs bar the Broncos, Titans and Cowboys? If they haven't then club e-mails can get through. Regardless of your club I am quite sure NRL club members can get early access to State of Origin tickets. Before the rest of the banana benders can, Even the ones held in Queensland.

You are a fan of the side no doubt, but by the definition of the club you are not a member, Members support the club financially. Fans are customers but have no rights in shaping the club and indeed have no liability, however limited that be.

Rugby League has always been a mercenary sport, it has always been about the money. That is why it broke away from Rugby Union.

you don't get it either it seems.

The answer is NO.

The club is not a charity. I don't know why you think it is, or why it should be.

You do what you want with your money and I'll do what I want with mine.

Fair enough I never said anything different. But football clubs may not be officially called charities, but in reality they are, on their own they don't produce anything. They organize and play sport, but if we want them to compete at the highest level then we need to contribute monetarily in support of them.

But that's just me, you and anyone else who thinks differently can suit yourselves and that is fair enough as well. We just think differently on this subject.

Whatever is left over will be dried and smoked later in the evening

So what. Do you routinely donate money to 7-11, Channel 9 or any other of the many businesses that don't produce anything?

NRL clubs make the bulk of their cash from television income and poker machines. You want to pat yourself on the back as some sort of benevolent special - then get Foxtel platinum and punch your wages through the whackers. This will help finance the club more than what you are doing now.

Members get to vote. That's what you purchased. A vote. Nothing more and nothing less - no matter how much you try and justify it to yourself.

Some people agree with you and see it as good value. Other people see it as a waste of money.

MITS get off your moral 'i'm better than everyone' high horse

what give you the right to question my financial circumstances and say I should be able to put away $1.50 a week for a supporter pack???

Additionally, where do I say that I have foxtel??? And the fact I buy my kids an eels shirt for Xmas means I therefore have enough money to be a paying member??? Who are you ??

mate, go back and sit with your pompous mates with their ANZ Platinum memberships who look down on the people in the GA section and snicker about how great they are

you clearly have ZERO idea what's it's like to support a family on one wage

I never claimed to be a member. I merely claimed that money does not decide if you are a supporter or not
